So how long did it take you to realize that saying racist bullshit was wrong? Your mid-twenties?

Shit. The internet must have inoculated me against despicable racist hate speech, because the use of ‘colored’ surprised me more than the headlining comment.

James is sooo much bigger than that dude! Poor lil guy never stood a chance.

If Vin Scully says it, I’ll believe it.

The Rams? Check

Gotcha. Thanks for the response. At least I’m not the only one completely flummoxed by 6-24.

We’re talking about sports on the internet. Its all inherently silly, so claim and argue whatever the hell you want.

I have absolutely no idea what this even refers to:

Some poor rookie QB is going to have an unworldly level of expectation placed upon his shoulders. I look forward to fondly remembering this trade in 5 years as a massive mistake.

Despite having looked at them multiple times, I am always in awe whenever I look up Gretzky’s career stats. Just mind-boggling.

I probably could have framed my initial statement better, but I was operating under the presumption of conflict like in the article and the post I quoted.

Seems dangerous. You can never trust a trigger’s discipline.

19 states, including Louisiana, have stand your ground laws dum dum.

I completely agree. Which is why its disturbing to me how eroded the standard for reasonable fear of bodily harm has become over the years and how stand your ground laws exacerbate its use.

The problem is the actual cases that have been adjudicated. You aren’t paying attention if you haven’t seen reasonable fear of bodily harm stretched to comical levels over the last decade.

But in this case Smith said he had a gun. The only reason you say you have a gun is as a not-so-veiled threat. So carrying a gun is fine. Just as long as you never say you have a gun.

Why not? If I don’t have a legal obligation to retreat and de-escalate a situation and someone telling me they have a gun (construed as a threat) constituting a reason to fear for my life, why can’t I shoot them?

You mean like how George Zimmerman chased after an unarmed Trayvon Martin and escalated the situation, yet still got off based on stand your ground?

Uhh, Smith had a gun. If we follow the stand your ground laws and “believed they were in danger” argument to its logical conclusion, anyone with a gun can be shot on sight.

Right, but it was really rude to do it two days after the fight. At least have the good grace to wait a year after retirement so I can weasel my way out of acknowledging that I enjoy watching men beat each other to death.
