I'm curious, do the grades matter much outside of AV Club readers? I've only started reading reviews regularly on this site in the past few months, so I'm not sure how that works.

I agree with you that there is a trajectory that the show has been following, and there are callbacks all over the place. I absolutely adore this show, and I do think Danny's motivations were realistic for breaking up with Mindy. But I didn't like how they handled it at all, and tend to agree with the reviewer on that

I'd go B+ on this episode. The circumcision bit was way too clunky and predictable, but otherwise I really liked how tight the episode was. There was an appropriate amount of Mindy being her weird (slightly racist/ignorant) self (the black music and shawarma stand comments) while also being maternal and adorable.

If I recall, the reviewer did stress that she wants Mindy and Danny to end up together, but wouldn't be opposed to a Mindy/Peter detour. I don't think the reviews are inconsistent, I think TMP throws so much different stuff in the air that it's hard to address it all, all the time, in the exact same way.

I said that she said "no" and Jamie ignored it: "I think he forced the sex when she didn't want it…" What I mean by her giving consent is that she was kissing him and moving to floor with him. Jamie's actions were highly problematic—he was going to rape her whether or not she consented. However, I do think she wanted

I just rewatched the scene. I honestly think it's more faithful to the book than the writer of this article. Cersei clearly says no and "stop it" (to which Jamie responds "no") at first and hits Jamie in the chest a few times, but then she seems to want to do it. Jamie does not force her onto the floor, they both move

I was super bored too, but I watched last week's and this week's after a hiatus, and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed them.

I definitely noticed myself enjoying TDS a lot more after his return, so much so that I watch it immediately after Colbert (on Hulu the next day) instead of maybe not watching it at all.

I've also never seen Scandal, but really loved the Diane bits. I think it's a common enough thing where you get sucked into binge-watching a show and everything in your world starts to be shaped by the context of the show. At least for a day or two. This episode was better than the few that came before it, and I'm

Funny, my boyfriend is short, bearded, and balding. Maybe it hit too close to home :D

I applaud that move.

He does have a beard, so that might actually work.

I can't tell, are you being ironic or serious?

I told my boyfriend that I want a TV show so I can make out with Paul Giamatti, and I think he was genuinely disturbed.

I'm curious why you think that. I would have no problem being friends with her, and not all women talk shit about other women. Sure, some do, but most really don't.

But she's not. Yes, she talks about sex and her body and she is attractive, but she's mainly making fun of herself in ways that both men and women can easily access. I think she's hilarious.

Yeah, you can have a social security card but not be a citizen. Kate being Canadian could imply that she didn't understand the importance of the social security card, or it could underline her previous existence as a reckless party girl.

I have to say, I disagree with most of this except for two things. The title is obviously not representative of the show, but it's not going to be changed, so we can't do anything about that. And yes, Kate needs more to do. It would be interesting to put her to work. I was intrigued by the idea of Kate and Jackie

Yes, which I liked, mostly. Of course it suffered the way every relationship in season 3 suffered from really bad writing, but the acting was there.

I wondered that during last week's episode for the first time. Does she have a prescription, or is she really only taking a pill for major things like that video shoot or giving the finger to Juliette? One of the many reasons I love the ridiculousness of Nashville.
