I honestly don't think you have read much about the 'Steam Machine' and what it's target user base is. Really. At no point has Valve said it want's to take away PC's that already exist, and Gabe Newel has been quoted as saying so.

What's your Steam profile? I'd like to friend you. Or......................are you speaking from a console only perspective?
Keep in mind that the Steam Machine prices are speculation at this point. Who knows, maybe Valve is willing to subsidize the makers of these PC's in order to make them cheaper.
I have a PS3 and don't really play it much anymore. PC is my thing until the next systems come out and I will wait a bit to see what games really hit me. Right now with the Steam sales and all, I have only completed 12% of my games and I have 174, so no rush.
I think you're right about next gen. This is PC footage I recorded from a while back playing Crysis 3, but the next gen consoles should do close to this for sure. Play in 1080p.
Ubisoft said that the PC version will run at 60 frames per second where the next gen consoles will run at 30fps. Other than that, I'm not sure what real difference is there will be unless you run higher than 1080p resolution on PC.
I have this on PC and played last night with a controller. It was very difficult (for me at least) and I actually had to go back to keyboard and mouse with this game. It seemed the controller was too slow to turn around when I had enemies all around me.
Relax. I think the next announcement from Valve is going to be a new controller with all of the accuracy of KB/M and can be used in the living room. I doubt very much Valve or anyone else is going to try and replace the KB/M in any way shape or form. I think they are trying to give everyone diverse options on the PC…
I put mayonnaise on my BBQ pork/beef/turkey sandwiches and it tastes good to me.
With the way Kaepernick played last Sunday, he should shave off both of his eyebrows. For real.
Please don't.
I have 174 games with 12% complete. Ugh. Friend me on Steam if you want. Steam ID homernoy.
Too much of a backlog? You and me both.
Are you planning on picking this up?
Nice! I think I will wait before purchasing, though $20 seems reasonable to be able to play and give feedback and ultimately keep the game.
Just don't mention 'Lumpy Princess', I have to work with three or four every day. If I could avoid them, I would.......but it's part of my job to 'deal' with them. Ugh.
I like the fact that this and hopefully many more games start out as PC exclusives. Keeping a game on one platform to me is a bad thing, but I like developers working with the highest common denominator, then working on making the same thing happen on lesser hardware. Don't you?
That support isn't GPU accelerated physics, it's software that runs on the CPU. There is no way that these effects could be done with this visual fidelity on the consoles. I have a GTX 580 as a dedicated PhysX card, which is in it's own right more powerful than the GPU of either console.
There is NO chance Nvidia PhysX will run like this on any console. The licensed software does not include GPU acceleration like on PC, it's simply a software solution to run on the CPU and on the lowest settings CPU PhysX makes the framerate crawl, even on high end procs.
I'm just going to come right out and call you a liar. Everyone else wants to, but won't. You are making shit up. Period.
