I‘m surprised no one reminded the man who torpedoed his career Tweeting about studio interference on FF, that maybe posting more about that film on social media is a bad idea.

It could be profitable enough for Disney, even if the theatre owners aren’t turning a profit. Its basically free money for them, as the cinemas have to pay the overheads, Disney just get the box office. They get a trickle from thousands of screens.

It’s the Universal thing. As soon as the Hulk is the star they lose a fuckton of the revenue. They know how beloved Ruffalo is, but it’s not like they’re short of massively successful films. I’m sure if the sums added up as well as the Disney Spidey deal, they’d do it.

Philips - “I’d like to make another joker and possibly take an unused villain IP from your back catalgue.”

I love Juggernaut. Unstoppable powerful but no plans for world domination. He's just a jerk, which is surprisingly rare and in the right hands very entertaining.

For his flaws, I love Garth Ennis. There was an interview many years ago, when he was first announced on Marvel Knights Punisher where he explained it was a Road Runner style comedy and it he ever took it seriously, it’d be time to quit the industry. Which is funny given how amazing Max is. The Slavers is a soul

Yeah, his directing filmography is really strong, as is his writing CV. Almost any other screenwriter would kill to have Gone Girl, The Town and Good Will Hunting as 3 of their 4 produced movies.

I get why people loved joker but the monotonous tone did nothing for me. Regardless, I’m hoping studio’s learn the right lessons from it (smaller budgets, riskier projects) and don’t just do a super gritty Paste Pot Pete and Joker knockoffs.

I know it’s popular to bash Crashing here, but that show did some really fun and interesting stuff about the Christian comedy circuit. It really went beyond “haha, jesus freaks” and examined the advantages, limitations, rules and people that make up the scene.

I’ve seen a lot of backlash over this and I think people are being a bit overdramatoc. Firstly, I’m sure there’s corporate pressure on launch week to say that Disney+ is essential.

Yeah because women 44 accusing Trump would be the one to be believed. Sadly no victim would carry the weight of a billionaire paedophile naming him.

Anyone who thinks adapting those books into a massively complicated TV show which revived critical and commercial acclaim, was just an accident by two hacks who happened to have good source material, does not know a lot about scriptwriting or television production.

Agree. His Silver Surfer with Dan Slott is nigh on perfect. Just a joy from start to finish.

Zemeckis’ run before he got sidetracked by mo cap was pretty incredible. I was so excited for his return to live action, but Flight was a slog, I turned off The Walk 30 minutes in and I’m afraid to even go near Marwen. He has an amazing CV and he’s one of my biggest influences directorally, but he’s not the director

In a way, New York City is another character in the story.

Hickman is clearly hugely immersed in the universe, so it can't be an accident. I presume it'll have some kind of "we're reclaiming it" justification, but it's an odd choice.

Isn't it just the case that Riverdales target audience don't watch TV? Judging teen shows on live TV ratings is giving you less than half the picture.

“What will we call our cool new mutant team? “

Ha. I feel foolish, but probably not as much as whoever pitched this article less than 24 hours before the announcement.

And the underrated Ben and Kate.
