I'm constantly surprised she and Keith Urban are still married. Nicole Kidman: Surprisingly Surprising.

It's a mystery. I think she's one of those 20-something actresses that someone in Hollywood is decided is the next "It Girl" and so now we have to see her all the time, even though she's not really in that much that anyone has actually seen. See: Margot Robbie, Sienna Miller, Gretchen Mol. Sometimes they actually

Seriously. I need to know exactly how scornful to be of Jimmy Fallon at work tomorrow, without having to actually watch Jimmy Fallon tonight. I depend upon you, AV Club!

Well, thanks! That's such a nice thing to say. (If I were Nielsen, that would be way too much power. I'm afraid my morals and ethics couldn't stand up to it. All of a sudden, Crazy Ex Girlfriend would mysteriously be getting 5.0s in the demo and Man with a Plan would be hitting 0.3s.)

Sure!

Season 3 was okay, with a couple of real high points. Season 4 I liked - there were far fewer episodes, which REALLY helped the show, the mystery was intelligible, and I didn't spend the whole time pondering why the cops hadn't done "x" six episodes previous. I also really liked the ending, which helped too. I am also

I agree - I think it's a little of both, as well. Which is why I think the show will continue to decline, but it may sort of settle a bit in the spring as the people who are turned off leave, and the rest sort of settle in for the long haul.

Unfortunately, yes. I read some really depressing story about how they cut off all contact with one of their parents when he or she left the "church". (I'm trying to remember specifics - I feel like it was their dad.)

It's perhaps slightly more instructive to look at the ratings in the 18 to 49 demographic, which is what advertisers pay for, not total viewers. (It's why shows that are sometimes highly watched from a total viewer point of view still end up cancelled - because not enough people of the "right" age are watching.) The

Dammit. Why didn't I think of that?

Yeah, it seems like the show has been quite clear that everyone gets rotated out and quite frequently. The only person we know of who has been there long term is Bernard and Ford. The show has actually been really explicit about that.

I assumed he was simply modified to have that as a directive, but to allow that directive to be overrode by Ford.

Well, every time they see her now, she's not actually in a vulnerable position. I think initially they were just completely freaked out because she was literally doing something they thought was impossible, so it didn't occur to them to do something to her. Then, they were scared she'd blow their cover as not having

As soon as he couldn't see the door, my sister started doing the "We were right!" dance. And I was like, "Shhh. The internet was right. That's where we stole it from."

Wasn't that room where there was the Bernard reveal the same room where Bernard and Delores have been meeting for their secret sessions? Except during the Bernard reveal, it had a machine building a robot inside of it.

I feel you. When even Jane the Virgin can't make me laugh or give me some sort of feeling, you know things are bad.

Could Colin O'Donnell do an arc on Arrow - even just a few episodes - and film Chicago Med too? If so, yeah, that would make sense.

I think some of the bigger name actors bargained for less time filming, which is why you started to see more of these standalone episodes. Plus, it reduces costs for actors that you only pay per episode.

This actually raises a legitimate question, I think, of how many of those are left. Season 5 slashed and burned through a whole bunch of characters people actually knew something about, whether the liked them or not. Now two more. Who is honestly left? First tier: Daryl, Michonne, Rick, Carl, Carol; 2nd tier: Morgan,

I miss arguing about whether something constituted a bottle episode. That was my favorite AV Club comments section ever.
