All things considered, it just doesn't seem that weird.
Yeah, I won't eat rabbit because I have rabbits. But my wife's aunt raises rabbits for meat, and that's okay with me—she's said that if she has us over for a family dinner, even if the main protein is rabbit, she'll cook some chicken or something for us (or, at the very least, tell us so we can bring our own protein).
I agree with this. I love her and I can't believe how many people take her music seriously. She's in the entertainment industry and she plays a part. Someone asked me if I would let my (younger at the time) kids listen to Ke$ha and I was like "No because it's not music for children stop being silly." Like people…
I love Kesha. She has a certain DILLIGAF attitude that I appreciate. I hope she continues to overcome all of this bullshit.
Seriously. It is like the same hatred people throw at Anne Hathaway, "she tries too hard". Yet when dudes try too hard to the point of craziness at their jobs (Daniel Day-Lewis, Prince, etc), we celebrate them. Women, however, must pretend they just accidentally are great at stuff.
I know it's probably heretical to say, but Taylor Swift seems calculating as fuck.
I think it reinforces the fact that women should be able to do whatever they want without being judged for it.
WAIT I WAS ON A BOAT ONCE AND HAVE A HAT. There is hope!!!
When it comes to tattoo cover-ups, the winner is "Wino Forever" forever.
Is it me though or does it kind of seem like the new tattoo is saying that the Japanese characters translate to "I'm sorry".
There's been a lot of work in social sciences that suggests that when the dominant group starts to see disadvantaged/underserved/underprivileged/etc. groups gaining ground toward equality, they feel like they're losing something. They actually feel like things are being taken away from them - it doesn't feel like…
Someone upthread linked to this article, it's an excellent read into the question you asked: http://badassdigest.com/2014/08/31/why…
And Anita Sarkeesian.
GamerGate: Because "We're trying to viciously bully a woman into committing suicide because she's a woman" is bad PR, so we're going with "We're trying to viciously bully a woman into committing suicide for important ethical reasons" instead!
God, the injustice of quoting people directly!
;~; so sad 4 u
"This anonymous (and typical) member of #Gamergate uses descriptors such as "ugly, acne-ridden" and "basement dwelling" to characterize how the rest of the world views other #Gamergate members. By deprecating the entire community under the guise of using "the enemy's words," they unite the entire group, and recruit…
By the way guys, if you get a response from one of these idiots the best thing to do is dismiss and don't engage. Makes them way angrier because WHITE MEN MUST NOT BE SILENCED!!!11
Ugh. I am so over the Nerd Persecution Complex. Gaming was never your secret clubhouse. Some of us have been here since the beginning, but were never accepted into the community because we weren't male or socially inept. Grow up. Find something else to define yourself by other than your electronic entertainment of…
