Seeing the guys read these—flinching, horrified and repulsed—made me feel bad for them, because clearly they would never send something like this to anybody. I don’t blame the guys and applaud them going through this uncomfortable experience.

Travis is a troll with a platform and Rovell but I see no death and rape threats their way constantly for just stating an opinion so...Nope.

It’s so painful to hear about what he did to her, but his seemingly-genuine remorse gives me a tiny sparkle of hope that maybe some of these people can get better?.... Sigh. Our society…

yes, sometimes they get harassed to the point that it’s completely interfering with their ability to market their work/do their job. this doesn’t just apply to these kind of situations either, the internet mob justice is also at fault.

I came here to say that women don’t get paid to do those things. Marriage is an institution that generally guaranteed these things for men regardless of how they treated their wives and that their wives never got a fucking salary.

I get told all the time that “Twitter isn’t real life.” But it IS real life.

Or Twitter could even do a better job creating and enforcing anti-harassment policies.

I follow both of these women on Twitter and they are smart, funny and opinionated. I sometimes disagree with them but when I do, my reaction is more along the lines of “oh, c’mon - that’s nuts” not “I hope you get your skull crushed by a hockey stick”.

the guys who send this stuff are probably beyond help
