Well, I'm not a Scot and I've actually never been to the country. I see both sides of the issue and would have been pleased with either outcome, because I want what Scotland wants. I know I'm sitting on the fence, but I honestly don't have a strong enough grasp of all of the issues to make an informed opinion. And -

This is the land of my people, and I approve.

And really, it was Windows ME, Vista, and 8.0 that could make a grown man cry.

(in an old-timey voice) I remember those commercials and the excitement of Windows 95. I also remember paying $100 for a 14.4k modem when the 28.8k's had just come out and thinking that I was getting a great deal.

The weight of the box and the rattling around will give it away. It's tape. People have a general idea of what it weighs and sounds like rattling around.

I remember reading a theory that the wood was stored in the same place where the craftsmen would urinate, and the wood was better because of the urine. Something to do with the uric acid breaking down the sugars in the wood? Perhaps a theory too good to check, eh?

And the slices mix really well with a bowl of Ramen noodles to make a delicious, creamy soup. Even now that I'm out of the Ramen-necessary years of my life, I re-live favorable moments with a bowl-full.

The real embarrassment is that "desecration of a venerated object" is actually something you can be charged with.

Is it really a good idea to store a nine-volt battery in your glove box with the extreme temperature shifts many cars are subjected to daily?

You will feel cooler and look better in linen pants.

Oh no, this is straight out of the 60's if not late 50's.

Is it a dying market or a consolidating market that will eventually plane out? I, and many like me, will never give up our more powerful, near-infinitely tweakable desktops. Sure the market is consolidating in a big way, but there will always be a market for desktops. Government, creatives, schools, etc.

Yeah, sure this is anecdotal, but several members of my extended family made the jump to Mac after Win8 was released. My own mother, who is a defense contractor and works all day in a Windows environment, now comes home to a full Apple/Mac experience.

I'm a big Windows fan too. I don't mind change if it makes sense and is well thought out.

This is a decent analogy, but I think what annoys me about Win8 is that there are two competing UIs that don't actually flow together. While Office made a the big shift to the ribbon (which I absolutely loved and was infuriated when the did not change Publisher at that time), they essentially went all out with the

Over the weekend I used my Win8 laptop (which I rarely use in favor of Win7 desktops at home and work) while visiting family. To use my Bluetooth headphones I had to use both the Metro UI AND the old Windows UI. Sure there may have been an issue with the headphones - because I've hooked up speakers before with no

I live in SW Florida and had never heard of this. Thank you for changing my life, kind stranger.

Wow! I've seen baby's asses that weren't as smooth.

I think we need to see the proof. Face pic! I hope you're moisturizing after you put that alcohol on your face.
