Next time someone says “Your dad is a preacher, is he gonna say something at your wedding”, I’ma just show them this clip as Exhibit A as a reason why not. Because I love my Dad to death, but I ain’t about to have him get all long winded like he’s in the pulpit at his home church.

I’ve heard he auditioned because Amos is his favorite character from the books.

This episode showed why this show deserves to be picked up by ANYONE that can. I’m confident that someone will see that. I hope the Amazon rumors are true and we can look forward to more excellent television episodes from this magnificent show.

The Expanse is today’s Star Trek in the sense it hits all the issues: race, nationalism, crony capitalism, government conspiracy, inequality, discrimination, anomie, environmentalism, religion, gender. It’s absolutely FEARLESS, but subtle and nuanced! Fact is is might just be TOO GOOD for the medium! 😢

Look, this guy said some shitty stuff that I am sure he regrets in the light of day.

I have double my salary in student loan debt, does that count?

Yeah, seeing Kotyar on screen with that light blue glow was heart-stopping, even before he talked about what he was going to do to the Agatha King.

I hated the guy they picked for Cotyar because he played such a spineless prick in Spartacus. However I truly felt the loss of this character tonight. Nick Tarabay owned that role.

It seems like the executives at SyFy have been drinking the CBS kool-aid, making shitty decisions like putting Star Trek behind a pay wall.

Agreed (about Caprica), but I will defend the network in changing the spelling of their name from SciFi to SyFy because “sci-fi” is a genre and I could see search engines having a hell of a time distinguishing between the two, so from a branding perspective alone, I understand why they did it.

To be fair, Caprica sucked hard. It removed everything that was great about Battlestar Galactica and multiplied everything I found irritating about BSG.

Also “whistling in the dark” and the fact that Paladin Holden needs a freshly broken nose for every episode of the series.

I haven’t read the books but Amos’ look hearing Prax tell Mei he was his best friend in the whole world was just magic. That whole scene is my personal favorite from the series so far.

Man, fuck SyFy.

How the FUCK is this show canceled.

Such a little thing in the grand scheme of this episode, but Bobbie’s “OBJECTS ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR” on the display for her rear-facing camera was just wonderful.

Syfy: “You’re cancelled.”

Things I’m still processing

Amos: “You’re not that guy.”

Home Depot is one of those stores that I actually steel myself (puns!) before I even go in the door.
