I was looking at their RX-8 with the blown motor so I’m not in their crosshairs for luxury buyer but if I were... The luxury buyer looking for a new car expects a high level of service and they want it to be uniform across the dealership network in case they have it service from a different dealer than they bought it

Buyers rightly equate the dealers with the maker who should have contracts and enforce a level of service. The buyers of premium or luxury cars expect a luxury level of service. That’s just about as important as the car itself.

I called the Evanston, IL Mazda dealer twice to inquire about a car. The operator was rude and I waited 10 minutes each time and got nobody. Good luck building that premium brand!

For baller-on-a-budget Euro sedan that’s only moderately nuts it’s Jaguar XJ easily. Maybe the best looking sedan of the post-war era. All respect to the Germans nothing they’ve made since the 90's comes close. They’re fast especially the supercharged versions. The long wheel base “Vanden Plas” is elegant and grand,

You must have terrible sins on your conscious to have worked so hard for the pastor. These are great btw.

The E46 seemed so slow compared to my (lightly modified) 135i. Straight line isn’t everything but the torque... I mean, damn. Like Harris said, from a roll the twin turbo six seems like a rocket. I’ve driven cars that do 0-60 faster but for real world driving it’s just feels fast af. No doubt the E46 is better looking.

Look how much the Japanese have struggled. Americans buy pickup trucks but they are brand loyal and even if they weren’t they’ll need nearby dealers to service them.

Imho it’s not that widely understood nor how pervasive anti-semitism was pre-war.

Thanks for the experience share and the information. I think what you are saying—and I believe you—is that shipping companies are already passing on future cost increases. I don’t think the author was making that point. The author seemed to be saying the fuel costs don’t matter at all.

1% or so is significant

Can you expand on this? “When 2020 rolls around the ships have to change to low sulfur fuels, the cost will nearly double, according to Pacific Standard. Luckily, we as consumers probably won’t experience the difference in our wallets”. So fuel costs are going to double but those costs won’t be passed along to

Volvo v70 R has 300 horses powering four wheels with adjustable Ohlins dampers and its a wagon! With 3 pedals. Do we need more explanation? All yours for the low price of $8,450. The dealer appears to be a used Volvo specialist. Who knew this was a thing?

They should have had the team that did the S2000 develop a platform for Acura.

Another exception: 2011 1 Series M or simply 1M for the non-geeks had the same engine N54 as the 2010 135i.

He can buy mine for $20k right now. I got an S2000 and don’t even want to look at the BWM. For canyon carving it’s no contest.

You forgot a link to MAGA hats

So true. I go to the European cars and coffee in Winnetka, IL (think of the right side of the railroad tracks in a John Hughes movie.) I chatted up one of the guys working the show, wearing a construction crew style yellow vest like the other volunteers. He spoke enthusiastically about the members of the club with

Continues the company’s fine tradition of subtly understated yet elegant performance cars.

Red stripe is tacky af

For a car that meets all of the criteria, 2006 Mini Cooper GP. I’ll get there by process of elimination.
