Wondering if my 42 years makes me “old”. (Smiling crying guy emojis)
I'm all in favor of subjective arguments for cars! How it feels is the most important thing.
Middle aged badasses. Fixed that for you.
Are you talking about the NA/NB only? The ND is reasonably quick. 0-60 in 5.9.
I love the S2000 and I’m closing a deal for one this week. It was considered by journalists and some enthusiasts to be a great car. I’m not sure it was ever a financial success for Honda. They tweaked it over the years but then canceled a successor. Damn ‘08 recession.
I hear you but people expect straight line speed and don't want rev the engine all the time.
1000 years from now some historical preservationists will argue the slammed, fart can, aftermarket stereo Honda is the true Honda.
Even without pics of all your vehicles it would be worthwhile. I’d love hear more about your cars.
E21 is the most gorgeous BMW coupe. There I said it. On the Tavarish criteria, they score low because smog era. They were worse performers than the preceding generation, so they don’t have that nostalgia factor. Europe got the more desirable 323i, but the USDM 320i was gutless. I don’t have a real position on car…
“Bro science”. Haha. When the stock market is booming lots of money managers will spout smart sounding theories. When the bust comes, not so much.
Wow, you have some eclectic taste PilotMan! I’d love to see an Oppo article listing all the cars you’ve had. Thanks for sharing.
+1. Doubling about every 7 years, right?
Haha. I test drove one after I had bought and tuned my BMW. Totally shifted my perspective. Awesome car.
There’s a lot to be said for the engine location in Cayman. Low polar moment of inertia and all that. 3000 pounds in Cayman has to feel like a lot less than the same in a front engine car.
Yes something to be said for refinement. I drove 8 hours on the highway in an S2000. There’s like 8 pounds of sound deadening in one of those. And I’m looking for one. My 1-ER feels like a Bentley in comparison, for good and bad. Different horses for different courses. I will say this. People who just look at lap…
All true statements but they are big and heavy. A lot of the appeal about the mid engine car is how nice it changes direction and how it feels.
My dad has one and I find it meh. A pretty good example of something that’s polarizing so it’s both underrated and overrated at the same time.
A used Leaf with a perfect battery is like $8k.
The Box is prett light by today’s standards. And your ‘08 still has hydraulic steering. Having said that one my best drives in the last year was an NB Miata. It’s about 500 pounds lighter than a Boxster and that makes a big difference in feel. Driving that was a big “lightbulb” moment for me. My 1 series felt huge…
