I mean, a few months ago I told someone off because they said that if your neighbors are being too loud you should just knock on their door and hang out at their party too and I was like IT’S A GD PANDEMIC and they were like uh I made this comment in 2017.

I suspect private businesses could choose to require masks forever because they are private. However,  customer pressures will likely have it lifted except in places like hospitals who may keep it.

It can be confusing for people to follow all the updates. Maybe it would be a good idea not to have the comments from two months ago mixed in with the new information.

Crapflinger said, “a 20+ round mag isn’t necessary unless you’re just really shitty at hunting and the animals you’re hunting are deaf.”

I once saw a dude siphon gas out of a car into a styrofoam cooler. When he picked it up, he was drenched. He walked away and casually lit a cigarette. How he didn’t die is beyond me.

My best friend has hunting rifles in his locked gun safe, in his garage, with ammo stored elsewhere, assuming he has any left as he tends to only buy it when he actually needs it.

In addition to grilling other parents and such, get educated about guns. For even the most ardent of gun-haters and their kids, there’s no harm in going to a range and learning how to safely handle, care for, secure, load, unload and even shoot a pistol and/or rifle. Ranges teach very cheaply ($25 to $100 or so), the

Sounds like your stance on this is best for both sides, for certain.

How about contacting the NRA itself.

Your kids, your choice. I don’t own guns, but 42% of households do (and that number may be much higher depending where you live), so that could get up being a very restrictive policy.

Oh I know but with 5 kids that love to jump all over you and wrestle and play it’s not a good idea at all, especially with DCF involved (we do foster care and DCF is well aware of the guns and has seen them and where we keep them, etc.)

I have never had a discussion with an anti-gun advocate who treated a gun enthusiast with anything even approaching respect.
On the contrary, the anti-gun folks have always shown themselves to be bloodthirsty and inhumane at every opportunity. Worse, they are laughably uninformed on the topic they spew so much venom

I vociferously oppose gun control and I appreciate your openness is at least having the discussion with people.

Good idea!

I feel like it’s not unreasonable or hypocritical to think that there are probably many different ways to make it more difficult for a bad person to get a firearm while also thinking that making 1/3 of the country armed and dangerous felons at the stroke of a pen is a terrible idea

As with all such delicate topics, remember to treat each other with respect. Try to understand the other person’s point of view. Separate emotion form the discussion and understand that you will not change the other person’s views.  Remember that no matter how you feel about this issue, you are probably getting a lot

I have plenty of firearms in the house but they are all locked up and only I know the combinations. I have told my daughter if she is ever somewhere else and sees a gun to run away and find the nearest adult. As she gets a little older I will teach her how to shoot and properly handle a firearm along with all the

My wife and I both have firearms, I carry daily. Our oldest daughter knows about them but has never seen them. We’ve had the talk with her as well and my wife just bought her a Daisy air rifle to get her started.

In our current political climate, few issues are as politically charged as gun rights. And as is the case with many controversial issues, that can cause people to steer clear of the topic entirely to avoid confrontation or arguments.

It’s the “swiss cheese” model of protection.
