Race is black and white in America and I have dealt with bigotry my entire life. My sister has dealt with bigotry and homophobia her entire life. You pretend these things can be ignored or set aside and that bigots are otherwise wonderful people.

Why do you keep insisting that it requires “looking down deep” to see that Trump and Pence ran on platform of bigotry and thus those who voted for them voted for a bigoted ticket? Trump and Pence have been very upfront about their desire to deprive people of basic human rights and have been this open for decades.

No answer as to why it is incumbent upon me to tolerate them, but not for them to acknowledge that I am a human being deserving of basic human rights?

One more thing:

a. So, a person’s age excuses them from acknowledging that other people are inherently human and deserve basic civil rights?

Believing that LGBTQ people need to be “cured” is not some middle ground where a decent person can respect the other side’s POV.

The key to 2020 is getting out the Dem/Liberal base: people of color, young single white women, and people who are LGBTQ. If they energize those groups, then perhaps they can win. Bernie is a deadend. maybe a Castro-Warren or Booker-Warren ticket works, but more likely a Harris-Castro or Harris-Brown ticket works

The “Out of Touch” line is a clever reference to Hall and Oates being robbed for “Big Bam Boom” being shut out of the Grammys that year.
