You've got the inside scoop or something? Lol, calm your fucking tits man.

I think it's important too to look at the way the character was received. For the most part, there wasn't much of any (that I can recall) vocal resistance to the character being designed the way she was. Certainly there wasn't the sort of backlash as we saw in the DmC redesign. Not sure how much that says about

Meant to say property.

This was a major developer taking a very real and calculated risk by featuring a minority protagonist as the agonist mover in a core AAA title.

Your outlook on music production is particularly lulzy. You've managed to create music for your games. You haven't created music meant to sell on it's own merit. Comparing the two is incoherent. You managed to create an mp3. Congrats. You didn't create a song worthy of a sale that incorporated multiple aspects of

In reality, I feel like this is typically always where diversity grows out of in entertainment industries. Music especially has normally been this way. A niche occurs, typically related to some specific societal segment. And from there, if it is interesting enough, the masses usually bite, not just on the music

Perhaps in the triple-A landscape, but we've literally never had such an expansive and polished array of diverse indie games. Are we done yet? Of course not. But to say that at least some major part of the industry isn't trying feels disingenuous.

That's asinine. Making music, even at the amateur level, still takes a great deal of commitment, practice, time, and effort. Mp3s may be easy to get out into the world. But then again so are flash games. I mean, jeez... just look at the app stores of respective phone/tablet markets. I'd argue that it's actually easier

I think you nailed it from the perspective of the artist, who should always be allowed to create what he or she desires to create, independent of the factor of inclusivity.

If music artists wish to change their own style to reach more followers, then it is within their right to do so. As a DJ buddy of mine once told me, everyone sells out just a little bit. But then again, if an artist wants to continue to adhere strictly to their preferred genre, then that is also their right to do so.

Having spent some time in Japan with black friends, I never saw any of that, and my friends, at least to my knowledge, ever expressed feeling that way either.

I simply cannot agree with you Evan. While I want to see more diverse games (and a more diverse core of developers), I absolutely disagree that anyone is beholden to anyone else to make content that is maximally inclusive. The argument really doesn't hold up in any form of entertainment medium, so I don't understand

I simply do not accept the argument that creative license is beholden to inclusivity. Let the artist create that which he wishes to create, the end.

The cost.

Never played any of the Witcher series. What's the comparison?

The idea behind "Freedom of Speech" is that governments shouldn't have the right to punish those who speak their mind.

Is it worth what appears to be a complete farce of a DLC system they are employing?

People continue to conflate the concepts of freedom of speech and expression with government protections of free speech, such as our 1st amendment.

That's not what freedom of speech means. That simply refers to 1st amendment protections of speech. Freedom of speech is a concept that transcends 1st amendment protections and is made up of the notion that all speech should be free. That does not mean that all speech necessary is free from consequence. But everyone

Tidus was a pretty god awful character.
