Out of personal curiosity, how would you have graded ReCore under Kotaku’s old “Yes/No/Not Yet” review system? I don’t think your response would change my feelings on the game (that is, hold off on it unless MS releases a bug fixing patch), but I’m still a bit curious!

I don’t know about that. Just take a look at Stardew Valley.

Uhm... I’ll be on record here by saying that I definitely enjoyed my time in No Man’s Sky, I’m not spouting the complaints that have been repeated ad nauseum, but what are you on about here?

Wanting a refund for a product you aren’t enjoying is now considered inhumane?

It’s a procedurally generated game, for many players it won’t be readily apparent that the game is lacking the features you’re looking for within the first few hours.

We were told it was a game with more planets than we could ever hope to see. And on that they delivered.

Incorrect, you’re not talking about lives - you’re talking about business.

Would you want to be in the shoes of developers getting their money taken away from people who really had no reason to refund their money?

If customers don’t like the product or feel they’ve been somehow misled, I think that’s more than reasonable grounds for a refund

The requirements for the Steam refund are strict. 14 days of purchase and less than 2 hours. Failure to satisfy both will not give you a refund. This basically eliminates a lot of people who desperately tried to find something good in the game. So all that’s left are people who had no idea what they were getting into.

Are you kidding me? The dev even went on Colbert’s show to lie about online capabilities.

When you lie about what your game has, that falls under false advertisement, then yes, people have every right for being cheated out of their money.

The E3 2014 gameplay trailer is pretty damning. You can sit here and say people worked themselves into a frenzy with hype, but when you have a trailer that specifically says GAMEPLAY and then you play the game for yourself and it’s nothing like that, that’s not gamers working themselves up with hype and then it not

People are inhuman for getting a refund? The hell?

Got NMS launch day, couldn’t launch it, did some reading, waited a day, did some more reading, still couldn’t launch it, talked to some people who played it, happily refunded the game on Steam no hassles.

Lol, I could show you but you wouldn't understand. Nice deflection.

Man your articles are great. Please don’t leave.

interesting.. so.. therefore by that logic we should confiscate all cars.. because environment and it’s too easy a way to get to work or wherever you want to go. we should take away medicine because.. well you should be creative and it’s far too easy on you. we should take away the computer you are typing on because

Why? If the designs are solid, there shouldn’t need to be an explanation as to what they are.

they’re peasant strumpets... this is how they’re supposed to look, you absolute troll.
