I would have sat frozen, shocked. And then hours later I would beat myself up for not flipping the table, thus making it my fault that I wasn’t able to confront the woman in the moment when it occurred.

No. No he was not. He did the same thing he does in every single movie now— drops two good lines, and then spends 90 minutes giving sad eyes to the camera.
Ugh, I am sorry. I feel like this is the “CSI Effect.” People assume that there will always be indisputable evidence and therefore won’t arrest or convict without HD video and DNA samples.
You’re basically describing me. I put a TON into my 401k because if it’s in an account I can easily access, I’ll spend it. I ran up credit cards, consolidated them, and then ran them up again. Lesson learned— cut up the cards, ask for my limit to be dropped, or just don’t carry them.
Not a finance pro here, but I view my pension as magic beans. As in, it will be great if it turns into something but I am not going to count on it as my sole retirement income.
I would add that it’s important to cancel, hide, or otherwise limit access to the credit cards once you do this. It’s too tempting to run them back up after you consolidate the debt.
(Patiently waiting for comments from Hermes, Lanvin, and Ellie Saab.)
I think I would prefer the stairwell to this breakfast.
Nothing about this sounds inocuous, especially in an industry known for abuse of young women. This incident alone is terrible. But it’s so much worse when you consider what this psychologically does to people as part of a broader industry “culture”. It tells women they don’t matter, that they don’t have a voice, and…
This has been my fear all along-- Trump sets the bar so low that when he ats halfway human, the storyline is that he is suddenly unifying and presidential. He accurately read some words that someone else wrote. I’ll wait until I see some real action that helps those in most need before I schedule his parade.
Helpful background. This makes a lot of sense. I was wondering how they tolerated being connected to the Trump family but I guess they deserve each other.
I don’t even care if that’s exactly what they do— as long as they don’t make it significantly worse. I worry that they will delay a repeal long enough to try and pass blame onto the Democrats for what they have further broken.
I guess what gets me is the language choice— which may be what the police said or it may be how the writer phrased it. Had the article read that the police declined to make an arrest at the time due to an initial lack of evidence, I get that. But the implication that the onus was on those getting harassed and…
The irony is that he is the one reading and repeating fake news.
What on earth do you think Jared’s parents think about Trump’s remarks?
I’m so sorry to hear how this has affected your local JCC. I have a number of friends (of all religions) who use the JCC for childcare and I don’t know what they are going to do.
I totally believe this. They need to get through their wish list first. The problem is, repealing Obamacare is on that list and they are still very far from having a replacement agreed upon.
Lisa would never risk her miniature pony money on this guy. I’m sure it’s just a dumb storyline for the sake of the show. In fact, I would not be surprised if it’s actually just a play kitchen that she sets up in an alleyway for Sandoval to “manage”.
Then stop commenting.
This is the silver lining in this awful story for me. I am completely amazed that Georgia pursued this case, used these laws to convict, and actually gave hefty sentences to these assholes.
