Sounds like a GM smallblock with an automatic...

Two big things:

These are the same wealthy NYC Liberals attending the Climate Strike.

If you can get the vast majority of places without a car, why have one. For a rare out of town trip, or even a costco run, you can just rent one (either a traditional rental or a zipcar-type thing) and it will still be vastly cheaper than paying to own, maintain, and park a car while not wasting space in cities for

I hate the 405 and avoid it like the plague... that goes for the 5 and the 10 aaaaand sometimes the 57 and oh God the 110 and 101 too

This is an excellent point and I totally agree. I figured this was a pretty jacked up price for one, but had no idea it was that jacked up over the base price.

Do people ever pay sticker on a Dodge that isn’t whatever the newest Hellcat variant is?

The thing is, after you pay taxes, you will be paying over $80,000 for this, and man... $80,000 for a Durango just seems crazy. Without the benefit of Google, I’m going to assume the base price on a “family hauler” standard Durango is around $37,000, with a V6 and cloth interior.

Yeah, R/T is the sweet spot on these. That green is the business though.

I looked at these (and the regular R/T) recently as I was shopping for an SUV on the sportier side that can tow my track car around on occasion. Lightly used ones of course as there is no way in hell I’ll every pay full sticker price for a new vehicle again with a massive payment for 6 years or longer. They were

Because weight savings on the performance trim lol.

It’s a beast and that green is handsome as hell. But I wouldn’t feel comfortable dropping nearly $80k on a Durango. It’s probably cheaper to just get an R/T and mod the standard Hemi.

My thinking is, at the end of the day, it’s a Subaru. It’s never going to hold crazy value, I don’t think. It’s the ultimate WRX, a car that’s meant to be an accessible performance car, built by people who want you to drive it. Don’t think too much about it.

“Subaru stated on this trip that there will only be 209 models built”

Zero reason to get a Pajero even if it were on sale, at least new. Used is a different story. It hasn’t seen a meaningful update since the late 90's and everything about it is antiquated.

Friends i met on vacation a few weeks ago were driving a rental CHR. It was supposed to be what, a lifted corolla? I mean since it was a rental it was literally the fastest car on earth but i didnt get it. Just buy a sedan at that point given how bad the rear room/trunk was compromised by the sloping roof line.

They’re not BMW.

I just did a cursory search of the internet, and... seriously, I get that a CVT can (in theory) improve fuel economy, but lordy, they all seem to suck. I don't care what car it's in, CVT's just seem like a bomb that goes off every 50-75k miles.

I have a CHR. The transmission went out at 66k miles. There is a 2 month long, 40-deep waiting list for a replacement, which Toyota will not pay for. I have about another month to decide whether or not I’m just going to leave it at the dealership and let Toyota Financial Services repo it. Don’t buy a CHR. It’s a heap
