I made an album of past setups I have used for a few more ideas! You can almost see the old parts fade away for the new!

CPB, Those prints are actually some of my latest board designs in Altium Designer, with copper pours shelved to show off the inner layers. I used a livingsocial deal to get them custom printed for about $60 each. One print is an FPGA/ARM processor board and the second is a B2B stackable power supply for the processor…
Alan, this is what I am using...
Haven’t ventured outside of 22"-24" as they hit the price point for years. I can easily see why larger, than more would be better.
Sadly, not a connoisseur, but more of a random collector. I spent a bit of time in Tampa, FL and hung out in Ybor for a while. Collected a sampling from the shops i visited. I would love to learn more if i could find some time in my life to do so!
I am a firm believer in that the increase in capability from 1 monitor to 2 is astronomical. 2 to 3 is still very good. But from then it begins to detract without specific reason or necessity. I have a Quad setup at my company office and it provides me everything i need.
It is a very good question. Lots of people have thought the woofer placement was intentionally done for sound imaging, but really it was just something that fit well and was nearby at one time in my life and has grown on me. It works very well as a dead spot in the viewing area to place a laptop for when i need to…
I am truly sorry that you believe that. have spent some time collecting the parts to build my home, but by no means are they severely dated. Please take a look through my Flickr account before you judge me as such. I think you may re-evaluate your position.
Thank you very much for the compliment. Chicago and Navy Pier!
So excited i made it on here! Thank you for the wonderful write up! I will try and answer as many questions below as i can throughout today. It was quite hard to cram all of my computer things into the corner, but love the way it came together. As mentioned, take a look at my Flicker, which I made solely for this Show…
I was lucky enough to get the Quadro 4000's as surplus at my employer. Surprisingly, the CPU has just enough slots and PCI-E lanes to take the graphics cards without degrading them past 16x for the 4000's and 8x for the 2000.
I am actually a bit embarrassed at it. In the past i have made a false wall of painted cardboard to hide the cables behind so rewiring is easier. In this case, i ran out of wire and wirelooms.
I’ve never had a point in time where I purchased the monitors together, other than in pairs. For this reason, there are 2 matching sets, but the other are orphans. Gets the job done, and at least all are 1080 resolution!
Thank you! I actually enjoy seeing the background as it is, considering there is very little time i see the desktop in anything other than the center monitor.
The monitors are actually held from a single 3 monitor horizontal stand from Amazon. The bottom row sit on the desk.
The desk was brought into the home from my wonderful girlfriend. I believe it come from an equivalent to Ashley Furniture around Boulder, Colorado or New Orleans, Louisiana. I had to cut, paint, and drill out a 2x10 in the back as the rear legs were missing.
The setup is more for function than aesthetic. The receiver needed a place to go and the subwoofer perfectly elevated the top row of 3 monitors. It is not used for sound imaging in any way, more of block of wood
I do agree that i truly do not use all at the same time, but it is nice to have dedicated screens for various functions. Especially if the GPU is segregated for hardware intensive tasks.
Hello! This is my setup! I am an engineer that does home consulting using SolidWorks and Altium Designer. The setup works nicely to put 2 screens to use to doing PCB CAD (sch/layout), one for mechanical CAD, and other one for reference.
