Not entirely apropos, but can we all just agree that Tami Taylor was a goddamn saint? Sorry, but I've just recently finished a rewatch of FNL, and she might just be the most fundamentally decent character I've ever seen in a show.

The compulsory service requirement was a big reason for the military successes of Prussia in the Franco-Prussian war and in WWI, so compulsory service in Germany had a long service leading up to WWII. It's one of the reasons I get a little squeamish about games and movies that treat German soldiers as gleefully

I don't have any problem with being intolerant with people, so long as it's based on their choices. No can control where or to whom they're born. But people can definitely control what sort of person they become.

Yeah, Packers fans have been pretty spoiled for a long time now. I don't follow them as much as I used to, but even now I dread the not to distant future when Rodgers retires/drops-off.

"I got the results of the test back - I definitely have Kinja."

North Korea has been threatening imminent military action against South Korea and Japan for decades. They've never followed up on it, and they've never been subject to military retaliation for their rhetoric, either.

In the end, we'll either be his loyal subjects or dead by his hand.

Polonius is one of those nasty pieces of work who is bound to survive everyone else.

Dunkirk's tightness really is commendable. However, I went in knowing it was a relatively short war movie, and the whole time I was dreading it ending because it somehow went by even faster than I was expecting. I could have sat through another hour at least, but I guess it's best to leave the audience wanting more.

Not to mention the dogfights. Seeing Dunkirk made me really want to see his take on a space opera.

Slaughter is the best medicine

Grosse Point Blank Dan Aykroyd is probably my favorite Dan Aykroyd.

At first I thought this account was needlessly personal and antagonistic. But now I get it.

*faints dead away*

Huh?

If Mad Max tells us anything, it's to stock up on fuel and football shoulder-pads.

What's most troubling about this to me is the fact that, while the North Korean regime is certainly a giant blow-hard, it is also typically a rational actor, and certainly does not want to provoke a nuclear strike from the US. It knows that it can't win that. The real danger is the incompetent and decidedly irrational

It will later be revealed that he had to make a Sophie's Choice between the rack of lamb he was enjoying in the caravan or saving Jaime. And that he regrets his choice.

[wipes away tear]

He's a very underrated actor, and it's a shame he doesn't get better roles.
