I played 120+ hours during quarantine and my wife played even more. We haven’t picked it up again at all since that initial 8 weeks or so, but I definitely appreciate having it during that time. Just get up, put MST3k on the TV, and break out both of our Switches and play until they needed to recharge.

I'm pretty sure Animal Crossing may have literally saved some people's lives this year, mental health-wise.

I’m surprised Animal Crossing hasn’t been getting its due. It may not be the most gamey game out there, and for most, the novelty has likely turned into a drudgery (As always happens with Animal Crossing games), but BOY was it a comfort for many of us in troubled times. If there were ever an argument for video games’

I keep reading year-end lists and wanting to ask dumb questions like, “Yeah, but where’s Return of the Obra Dinn???” or “How did they forget about Hollow Knight!?!” when the answer is that I’m way, way behind, and these games got their due praise a couple years ago.

I feel like Half Life: Alyx got short shrift this year, both because not many people have played it and because it came out near the beginning of the longest year on record. HLA is so well-designed, so well-written, and so completely immersive. It manages to meet the sky-high expectations of the HL franchise, and in

I think one of the worst examples of this is that in the Mad Max game you don’t get Max’s costume and car from the movies until you beat the story. at which point there’s nothing left to do.

I’m hoping the increased speeds mean injecting more creativity on the menu art side. I’m so done with these generic ass UI/HUD layouts. Add some interesting flowing animations into menu selecting. Create some beautiful living backdrops that merge with these menus. Don’t just vertically divide the 16:9 screen into

Well, you said it yourself. N is an antagonist. Cyrus is a villain. Those two terms are not the same thing. I’d rather have a nuanced, considerate character oppose me than a cackling mustache-twirler.

Personally, I just don’t think the series has taken the jump to 3d all that well. Its been 3 gens since they moved to 3d models instead of sprites, and its still not gotten much better.

I wanted to like SWSH. Theres a bunch of things that they did very well (its never been easier to make a competitive team, which is

HG/SS are by far my favorites, so I was happy to see them top the list. I think they were the perfect storm for me. I really enjoyed X and Y, but haven’t been able to finish any of the later ones, include Sword and Shield. I guess I just don’t want to catch them all any more. I think Sun and Moon ruined them for me, I

I feel like N being the legit best antagonist in Pokemon history was not taken into account. He speaks directly to the heart of what most people might have a problem with re: Pokemon (that it looks like dogfighting at a glance), and his character arc basically addresses people’s concerns for all time.

Yeah, every time I get a slide show I feel like I’m being trolled.

I’d move B/W 1 up to ‘great’, but other than that, yeah, this is much more in line with waht I feel, and what I think most of the pokemon community feels.

Unpopular but probably true opinions: double and triple battles are dumb, so are mega evolutions, dynamaxing, omega forms, etc. Sun and moon’s no-gym system sucked. All the pokemon designs after the third gen suck.

Ronnie’s entire comment history proves that he does, beyond the shadow of a doubt, absolutely suck.

Ronnie sucks.  Ronnie’s family sucks.  Ronnie’s “friends” (nobody actually likes Ronnie) suck.  Don’t be like Ronnie.

If you don’t want to wear a mask, tell the delivery person ahead of time so they can leave your delivery on the ground in front of your door.

We keep our clean mask stash next to the front door, so when getting food it is easy. Also always wearing one in the drive through makes so much sense.

If you put out a grease fire in a pot or pan, by covering it with a lid, baking sheet, etc., be sure not to remove the cover until everything has cooled down.
