Those two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

You do realize every Switch game, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe included, can already be installed on a Switch, high quality textures and all? It’s simply an issue of not wanting to put that much time and effort into it.

Nobody has time to remaster/remake every one of those...” That’s literally their job dude...

Actually, the design seems to indicate that it was designed vertically, seeing as the sides are oddly curved, there’s a definite bottom and top to the vertical design, and it requires a stand to properly rest horizontally. The afterthought was the disc drive, which they tried to hide away on the underside.

Requiring a seperate purchase to play any physical game is extremely anti-consumer, especially since I’m guessing the disc version of the console is the more popular model. The issue is that the whole console was designed without a disc drive, and then one was tacked on afterwards, after realizing that some people

Pour one out for Tab, the original Diet Coke :(

I’ve seen this about a hundred times in the last few years, what’s new?

I love(d) the Zune, this doesn't really look very Zune-ish to me, aside from some of the colors and being flat. Looks a lot more like iOS 7/8 + Beats to me.

Of all compliments to give to MK64, you think it was fun to look at? I just picked it up again a few days ago, and its a wonder I could even make out what I was looking at in multiplayer matches as a child.

I hate to hate, but this is probably the ugliest desktop I've seen featured on Lifehacker. Reminds me of all the DeviantArt themes people were making in 2007.

Am I the only one that doesn't really like this? Putting the charms in the menu bar like that is ugly and strange, and the rest is just the Start screen crammed oddly back into the old Start menu. Don't see any other changes besides (The Interface Formerly Known As) Metro apps running in the desktop, which isn't a new

The background styles don't make sense for pokemon at all. It just looks like someone overlaid pokemon sprites over old jrpg or fighting game backgrounds. X and Y look fantastic to me, it's good to see them put some real effort into the visual presentation on a pokemon game.

Imagine if those were the boxes they were sold in, Microsoft would be taking the Yeezus route of packaging:

It looks great and all, but it's obviously much larger than how Wall-E is shown in the movie, not the life-size they're saying it is.

While the original design is obviously the best, the new design is much better than the other three. Hat's much nicer, shirt doesn't have a stupid design all over it, shoes look athletic and less blob-shaped, and his pants actually fit him.

I just played through it, and not even remotely.

...you're kidding, right? Your fanboy is showing through.

This is supposed to be De Stijl, and yet the yellow tiles are a horrid lime color, and the battery widget is green too? Would have been nice if he'd gotten the clock to match a bit better. This just looks bad and seems like a pain to use.
