Haha why does everybody keep suggesting/assuming i'm from the UK?! I can't condone their actions...Jeez when you have the write the direction to look when you're crossing the road on every single damn crosswalk like they do in London you know you're in the shit

Because we are still a part of the British Commonwealth and (extremely) technically, in writing only, she is still our head of state.

Haha, good point. I don't drive when I'm in the UK because the opposite sides freaks me out :). A lot easier to change some road signs than to flip the lanes on every road in the country though. Actually now that I think about is it? I mean they would have to flip some lights around but everything must work the same

No he meant 9mm, as in the every popular 9mm hand gun

haha, enlighten me...what did we Canadians do to push around our giant, (largely) southern cousins

Well then do it for the wrenches!

haha, unfortunately I think you may be right, yeah

I propose the tag to change from "Genius" to "First World Problems"

yeah I think thats why the bible belters avoid it ;)

haha, good point

Excellent point!

So can I and I'm Canadian? Who cares if you can swap them? The point is to move on from imperial measurements...

You know you really should put the temperature in C (and then in F). Keep putting celcius second and your country will continue to learn it second (if at all)

Haha its Monday morning and I've been without science all weekend—it just kind of came out!

I think its definitely intended for pre-packaging operations in industrial setups, not for home/restaurant users

I think this would mainly be applied to limit cross contamination in the food industry...Normally washes in chlorinated water are used, for instance, in poultry processing, but the effectiveness of that wash is constantly questions, so this could replace that step maybe

Don't think it would have any bearing on that...It only works on surface bacteria and hasn't been tested on E. Coli (the troublesome strain in hamburger)...

This doesn't mean you'd be able to eat the chicken raw/rare/ It only reduces the pathogen count by 2 log cycles under the most intensive treatment. For comparison, canning operations in industry need to reduce the pathogen count by 12 log cycles (12 decimal reduction or 12D process) in order to be considered safe

This is definitely only for industrial processing, yeah

Unfortunately not, only works on surfaces and eggs have that trusty shell protecting the salmonella carrying inside goodness :)
