League of legends made me a believer in free to play, and since then the only other game I’ve seen attempt actually free to play was Rocket League

I’m not a big fan of mobile games or free-to-play because I know they will have to make their money somewhere. You can’t expect a game to be free and have no mechanics to ask for money.

People just are not willing to pay even a couple bucks for mobile games. Many companies tried this over the years and it usually fails

Why do they think that’s a good idea?!

You don’t get to do this on your first sequel, the second game has to be either numbered or have a subtitle. You only get to do the same name twice after multiple sequels and at least a decade have passed.

I’ve checked the law and found that this is true, what they are doing is illegal, don’t look it up.

Made worse by how abused the “beta”/”Early access” tags are these days. With games going years in “beta” even though everyone knows that it is functionally released. No one expect a MONTHS long open beta with MTX to “unrelease” these days.

The July launch you referenced was the actual beta period. I participated in the closed alpha, which was last May, and then the game came back in July for an open beta before launching with season one in August. They have just now decided that the game was in beta the whole time because they fucked up so bad. You

Surprised it’s coming back. But then again I thought the game wasn’t very fun so I haven’t been surprised by the decline in players. The game just felt so soulless and mechanical to me.

Agreed. I love Sanderson’s worlds but they are not high level writing. What attracts me to Sanderson’s books is the world building and creative/unique magic systems that are all connected. And the fun and escapism, and sometime hilarious characters. Arguably the same could be said of Wheel of Time and Song of Ice and

“The MCU of fantasy books” is such a perfect description!  And I’m saying that as a general fan!

“Why is the article so mean-spirited? Why does he hate Hugh Jackman so much that he bursts into tears when hearing him sing? Is this guy okay?”      Not just that, but seeing Sanderson’s 15 year old son salt his Yakisoba makes him CRY. So either

This Wired article wasn’t criticism, it was a hit job. The dude basically hated Sanderson from the get go and in spite of all the evidence that he’s a nice guy decided “hey fuck this guy”

I like Sanderson’s books, they’re definitely popular because they’re accessible and competently delivered as opposed to dazzling the reader with prose but there’s no shame in being the MCU of fantasy books.

I’ve long felt the most notable thing about Sanderson is his fanbase’s rabidity.

Since it wasn’t anywhere to be found in the actual post:

After watching that clip, I’m reminded less about the Queen’s death and more about the fact that all Twitch streamers have to performatively scream every 30 seconds to entertain their 12 year old fans.

making them available to play

While the video game history foundation typically doesnt do digital in this case they can because he is donating the devices and storage which means the legality isn't in question at least right now.

At the end of the embedded Instagram post. It’s super brief. Wouldn’t even bother.

where video of blooper?

you can’t take photos ANYWHERE inside the building.
