I want to experience the game more than I want to grind rupees.

Its too difficult to choose just one. We can just call it The Making of a Traitor Memoirs series and appreciate it as a collection.

A semi-closed beta isn’t exactly unprecedented. Even Gmail was invite-only for what felt like a long while before they opened it up fully to the public.

You’re pretending that conditions don’t change, and that once what might have been an acceptable pay changes. Stop being an asshole.

You hire on at 10-12 an hour, and are worked at that rate......

Beyond increases for inflation, I would be willing to bet that their job requirements changed without a corresponding change in pay. Plenty of people get hired to do [x] and after a short time, are asked to do [y,z] on top of [x], but still getting paid as if they were doing the one thing. A company like GameStop

Wow, pissing on the underemployed having to take a bad job over having no job. Very brave

It’s almost as if people expect pay raises after doing a good job and working for years, at the least the kind that keep up with inflation!

Twitter wants most businesses to pay $42,000 a month to use the API.”

I think it really depends on what the employer promises. I doubt they told their employees they’d be making $10-$12 forever.

The original Independence Day didn’t get a sequel with Smith because Hollywood does not exist in a vacuum. It only did well at the box office because of the visual effects, but was otherwise forgettable and poorly written.

Something tells me it has more to do with fairly inexperienced kids and young adults being told of potential raises that never come and not realizing that they’re going to be expected to work like they’re getting paid commission when they aren’t, all while under constant threat. Seems like you just like to complain

Quitting en masse AND on the day of a huge release points to not just dissatisfaction with a job, but an abusive workplace. It reflects poorly on GameStop, not on these employees.

I don’t think it’s that people are surprised by their pay when they get hired.  It’s more that they can’t live with constant inflation without their pay increasing.

I’ve stopped feeling bad for people who still shop at Gamestop.  I also don’t understand those people.

Employers are like strippers during a lap dance; they’ll encourage you by insinuating there will be more all day, but it never comes.

I’m confused, is there anyone who thinks the point of these protests is to make Gamestop better?

I don’t want GameStop to turn around, I want them to go away. If your business can’t succeed without exploiting your workers then your business does not deserve to succeed.

To everyone that may have worked there for years and see this, and as someone who years ago gave the company in different parts of this area 10 years of my life. Fuck GameStop and fuck the DM at the time (possibly still now) Manny Mata. Coming from working in Flint, Burton, Troy and Detroit I feel for all of you

It’s not. First off, you down “own” anything, you have a license, same as a download. Second, physical media degrades. And third, physical media is environmentally problematic, in that a download is identical without any footprint.
