Naw, games are routinely on massive sales on console. I just wishlist what I want and get notified of what's on sale, and how much of one. Half my wishlist is 70% off or better most of the time. Steam has no price advantage most of the time.

If Apple releases X product at Y price, regardless of the values of X and Y, Apple fans will buy them. This works for literally any number and any product you care to input.

Sure, but that’s not the point. Lots of successful companies operate this way, pointing it out isn’t saying it doesn’t work. Gucci sells a lot of handbags that are no more functional than something from Target, but people want to pay to be billboards. It’s a valid observation. 

That’s a feature. It’s like owning a fancy brand purse - they aren’t covered with logos for no reason. Apple not only wants you to be locked in, they want you to WANT TO BE locked in, and proud of it, displaying for everyone how proud you are to be a member of the cult.

I mean, it’s probably best that you don’t get to define what “worthwhile” is for everyone. I’d take Pentiment over any of those (all of them combined, really), with particular emphasis on Death Stranding, which isn’t worthy to prop up my table’s short leg, and Final Fantasy’s soap opera of grunting and fetch quests.

Exactly this. Exclusivity is anti-competitive, and I will always support games coming out on everything possible.

Nope, it wasn’t and didn’t. The SNES had a terrible, slow CPU, so much so that the 8 bit TG16 absolutely stomped it. Here’s a discussion about the topic, it gets in the weeds but it’s a good read.
