“gone” the way of Liefeld
I liked his work on JLE with Giffen and DeMatteis, but I haven’t followed him since. However, I saw a bit of his Cap/Falcon and was horrified. He seems to have got the way of Liefeld of letting quirks and stylistic choices overwhelm storytelling and clarity.
Hell, I would argue smiling is integral to the character. Superman is hope and optimism. That’s obviously not to say that he should smile all the time, but he is defined by his belief in the fundamental good in other people.
Is there any other way FoodGōd can cry?
This is on my (extensive) list once it hits streaming. I liked Hammer on Reaper as a charming a-hole.

I didn’t know he’s dumb. The only exposure I’ve had to him is Batman v. Superman and the trailers for his Man series: of Steel and from U.N.C.L.E.
