Well, I should have taken a gap year and didn't (my mother died a month before I started uni, but I had scholarships that were dependant on me starting university immediately so off I went)— so I'm not speaking from direct experience. But I'm a huge proponent of the gap year in general— I think it's a great

I'm nearly finished with my PhD, and my dh has a highly specialized government job . We've been living apart for nearly two years already— he took a sabbatical to come to England with me/kids while I did this degree, but that could only last for so long. Dh realistically can only work in a few cities, mostly on the

Well, I suppose arguments could be made for YYZ and Free Will, too. :) I was dragged kicking and screaming into Rush fandom (my two brothers and my husband are all massive, massive fans), but I'll freely admit it now . I'm pretty sure I've seen every tour in the past 15ish years— and we did the Time Machine tour

Rush are the nerd rock kings! Bastille Day is definitely their best song.

1) I am SHOCKED that Trevor the Traction Engine didn't get a special mention. He is the Island of Sodor's resident child molester.

When my son was a baby, strangers would continually compliment me on my beautiful daughter, and when I pointed out that he was a boy, I would typically get some variation on, "well, he's too pretty to be a boy." Which, you know, WTF does that mean?, but also: he was super super bald for ages. Moral of this story:

Did you MacGyver this yourself, or with internet instructions? I'm impressed either way, but if there's a link, you know, please share.

You understand how studies work, right?

Not just you.

For me, it's generally the telltale sign of having to go into my office instead of working at home.

Snerk. This needs to come out of the grey tout de suite.

I've always been loosely opposed to the idea of a vow renewal, but you make a compelling argument, my friend.

Sounds like. I totally hate all the marrieds I know now (including myself, I guess, actually. Hmm).

Aaaand today I learned that all of my friends and family are bastards, because I haven't been to even ONE wedding ever with a candy table.

But, erm, Wild at Heart WAS his romantic comedy, I think. Wasn't it? ;)

Lol. It was years before I could watch the first Blade movie, so traumatised was I by my experiences, and I never saw Trinity. :)

I like that he appears to be wearing sunglasses under the butter costume, just in case his face was otherwise recognizable.

To Wong Foo (Fu?) is great, and White Men was fine (if memory serves, the whole thing went tits up just before Blade came out— in other words, I am old). It was the rest of the filmography that was the problem.
