I don’t think it’s ever going to be like those first weeks again. The supply chain has changed, the stores have changed, and the people have changed (people will start hoarding earlier, thus more supply being on the shelves for the real shortages).

Ya like I said in some other comments, I wasn’t sure to what extent you ment by “stocking up”. It immediately made me recall people with carts full of toilet paper when I read that.

The alternative is buy the normal amount, what you’ll actually need for the holiday, and that’s it. You can buy it early if you’re worried.

True, the person I originally replied to just said “stock up”. They didn’t make clear to what extent they were going to stock up.
