The fact that many so-called blue states, including California, have had Republican governors helps make my point. My home state of New York also regularly elects Republican governors, in part because our system is designed to ensure that the state isn't dominated by the city. It may be inconvenient, but the reality

I'm just pulling your leg, but I do believe California is more conservative than most people think.

Maybe at the national level, but how do you explain Arnold Schwarzenegger, Charlton Heston, and Ronald Reagan (one-time gov of Cali)?

Bit of a tangent, but I've read that state politics in California is, contrary to what you might think, very conservative, very red. Which would explain why a basic human right like gay marriage is legal in Iowa, but not in California. It's a big place and it's not all San Francisco and Hollywood.

Judging by this list of opponents, it's safe to assume that Democrats have received more campaign contributions from the entertainment industries than Republicans for the past several years.

And I gifted my old D60 to my brother. It's the cycle of life.

I went for the D7000 this summer. It offers most of the benefits of Nikon's current pro line, and outperforms them in some cases, and it does it at a much more palatable price point. If you're a professional or a studio photog, you're still going to want the full FX sensor, superior high iso performance and larger

I was certain that I'd find synesthesia on this list. Sadly, no, but these others are pretty neat. I suppose synesthesia isn't technically a disorder, though, since it's more like a "reorder".

Then I learned something new.

Bless your soul.

The cheapness of today's vegetable oil-based margarine is arguably to the detriment of today's dairy farmers, but my original thought is that old fashioned beef fat-based margarine could not have been cheaper to make than butter, and so there should never have been any competition between beef producers and dairy

If they can make turkey bacon taste as good as it does, I'd like to taste what they can do with beef bacon!

How about an apple in a roast pig's mouth?

I know, I said as much above. (see above)

It's set to 1080p, and I'm using HDMI. Not sure, but I was playing Halo 2 (which is 720p at most). Maybe that's the problem. Not sure if the TV (or the 360) is trying to upsample to 1080p. I should experiment with a more recent game originally mastered in 1080p.

Beef fat must go bad too, right?

[Inserting foot in mouth.]

Most margarine today is made out of vegetable oils like soy. My question relates to the cost of producing old fashioned beef fat-based margarine.
