sometimes its difficult for me to have sex knowing that he even exists.

A good rule of thumb to live by: never put anything you find in Times Square inside your body.

I feel sorry for you if you think the only people who enjoy arts and culture are tourists in an area, and that those things aren’t a regular part of life or something. You actually mock people for going to museums and galleries? That’s...an embarrassing thing to admit. Maybe part of the problem is that you think arts

It’s interesting how if you live in Cali or NY you are not allowed to talk about why you like where you live. There will be a bunch of people from less desirable areas jumping down your throat for “looking down” on them. Yet, they are allowed to express their happiness with where they live, usually by directly

Yeah...no.

I totally agree with this, and I am a Californian born and bred. While living across the globe, my identification was always ‘Californian.’ I feel a part of the nature, here: the land. I never walk on this land without thinking of and feeling the Native American presence that was once paramount. I am not Christian but

California is fucking enormous and various. You could absolutely find a studio for that in parts of LA County or the Central Valley. Probably up by Humboldt area too. No, you’re not going to find that deal in the bay or in any major city center here, but CA does not have a monopoly on the US housing crisis.

See also have more brown people in places that aren’t CA and NY, have more places to eat that aren’t sports bars, be more accepting of different religions, don’t be afraid of Muslims, etc. and so on and so forth

Have things to do. And encourage the locals to be less dickish to people who aren’t white or straight or Christian (if

I think you can becuase I just did.

OK, so what is “white culture”?

In my corner of the upper Midwest, people call that stuff “funeral meat” because it gets served at the post funeral lunches (alongside numerous “salads” and cakes provided by the church ladies, of course). Though when you think of the other things funeral meat could be, ham salad doesn’t look so bad.

The so-called “nerd culture” that has become popular in the past decade or so was largely a product of white culture.

Over eating fast food. Buying Chinese made shit you don’t need at Walmart. Buying more house and SUV than needed in order to impress others. Putting “Support our troops” stickers on said vehicles, completely ignoring the fact that they’re part of the reason there are troops deployed. Overly complicated coffee

The first paragraph, sounds like any kind of American woman. Working your ass off and watching bad reality tv is not at all culturally specific or significant.

Hey now. I’m Black and you can pry my NPR podcasts from my cold, dead fingers (including great diverse ones like code switch). I think NPR is more “liberal person” culture than white person.

What I think of when I think of “white people” and “culture.”

I worked with Swift on a product launch several years back (after Red but before 1989), and she was (a) surprisingly involved in the product and (b) very nice to everyone involved. I know that she was doing it in part to enhance her brand and make money, but a lot of the celebrities (and “celebrities”) we worked with
