thats really cool.

Shtay a while, and listen...

Each time I read your comments and remember that you’ve mentioned multiple times that you’re a (Rethoric, I think?) Teacher I get a little piece of my faith in humanity back. I really hope your students listen.

It’s true. Blizzard does have a bit of a track record for delaying many of its releases. Personally, I don’t consider this a negative when you take into account the “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” nature of the decision facing many development companies when releasing a game.

Surely you recognize, Schreier, that having an opinion that diverges from the approved reaction range of a given community makes you a sellout and a shill, rather than an enlightened, erudite free-thinker.

What are you, an NPC?!

Thanks! It’s certainly ironic that angry Redditors have been dragging me all weekend for being a Blizzard shill because I criticized the petulant red-shirt guy on Twitter while at the same time I was digging into this story that Blizzard certainly didn’t want to come out.

I look forward to any article you write. The insights you provide into the BTS workings of the video game industry are so important. I, and so many others, have little idea how these games are created or promoted when being created. You’re careful, but dedicated to tell the story and clearly have amazing connections

Yeah said the basement dwelling entitled gamer.

No one’s asking to you to “accept” it, just to get a fucking grip.

Yeah, and you got Diablo news. That is was Diablo news you didn’t like is your problem, not Blizzard’s. Nor does your disappointment excuse harassing and threatening developers that had nothing to do with the announcement or the decision.

Oh, we understand.  We just think the reasons amount to the usual entitled bullshit from "hardcore" gamers.

Simply further evidence that fans who blame developers for not curbing their enthusiasm is bullshit. Fans have frequently shown and demonstrated the willingness to drive the hype train into the wall themselves (then threaten the developers for it).

If people just left it at “this game sucks. won’t buy.” it wouldn’t be entitlement.

Being disappointed is one thing, but the crap these man-children are pulling right now is downright embarrassing. If you want to have a night full of pity for the human race, go to the Diablo forums and read some of the drivel these window lickers are writing.

Diablo IV?  Hah. Haha.  Diablo came out in 1996.  Diablo II came out in 2000.  Diablo III was 2012.  Sorry everybody, but at this rate you’ll be waiting until 2048.

“If you read through it with the benefit of hindsight, it’s pretty obvious that it’s telling people not to get their hopes up for anything too big at BlizzCon”

I don’t really play mobile games and would have loved a new Diablo announcement but what are you gonna do?  Apparently get really angry about it on the internet like that will somehow make Diablo 4 suddenly appear.

Lol, this outrage is pretty silly.

While those teams do interact with the main Diablo team, the Immortal team and the main Diablo team are separate and working on separate projects.

Way to play into the stereotype of being the worst.
