Oh wow. I did not know he was a Westlake fan. I compare them in my head all the time.

How old is she now? We read Wee Free Men to my son when he was 5. There's even a wonderfully illustrated edition.

That link had gone to a page on his publisher's site with a statement about his death. Somebody broke the bit.ly link it seems.

Nation and the Tiffany Aching books are the ones that most deeply affected me.

"AT LAST, SIR TERRY, WE MUST WALK TOGETHER."

Me too.

I thought you were joking but no. They really did call that out as a glaring error.

Reminds me of JUD JUD.

I adore Jim Croce. You can judge me for that.

My mom's favorite singer is Jim Croce. You are now precluded from telling jokes about my mom because you have demonstrated that you do not know her at all.

He works with Youth as The Fireman too.

George Michael. That's a better answer to the question than every one of the 18 on the list.

Prince's 2000 tour was called "Hit N Run" but those dates were announced in advance as I recall. He played the Riv in Chicago. Outstanding show. He brought audience members on stage to dance. Macy Gray was in the balcony because she was playing a show that night down the street at the Aragon and late, late that night

I remember being excited for another PKD movie when this was released, but it totally fell off my radar until today.

Ron Glass? Harris from Barney Miller? Coulson's not dead? I'm not going to have to start watching the tv show to make sense of the movies, am I?

I'm not going to say you cannot pick all of them but I will say that should not pick all them.

I think mucking up the Isaac Newton quote was an intentional homage to the Beatles who got laughs from Ringo's mucking up phrases. If Safire can't take a joke, then nuts to him.

Herb Kent's Battle of the Best on V103 last Sunday was Prince vs Rick James. I thought it was an unfair matchup but James didn't do too poorly. The Cool Gent was awfully mean to the father & son who were in the studio to represent James though.

So he wrote the Aristocrats? That could not be more appropriate.

The Quiet Man is a very comfortable movie. I could settle into it any time.
