…director Nick Cassavetes—whose career makes one wish that John Cassavetes had been a better father

The A.V. Club

I know Lou. It's a small world of Faces fans in Chicago.

Big Fish is the only movie on your list that I've seen so today I consider myself a very lucky man.

And (from my experience) ELO fans are kind of like of Rush fans in their proselytization tactics and obsessive fandom but unlike Rush they're a nice band and you've heard their songs on the radio and you can hum them.

So far Love and Monsters is my second favorite episode of this season after Girl in the Fireplace. It was a fun one-off with a bit of effective pathos built in.

Did you once meet someone who was not ashamed to listen to OCS? Because, yes, that may have been me.

I saw them at the Metro in Chicago once and they were fun. Great dumb fun. There's nothing profound about OCS but they're good at what they do. Like a bar band that doesn't want to pay for the rights to play the originals so they play their not-very-creative original tributes but they're good musicians and know their

Live Forever is probably THE iconic Britpop song to my mind.

I don't read all that many of the articles here and only occasionally participate in the comments and I've not spent any time at SG so I don't know you or anything about you but I am still very happy for you.

Like something to watch on a flight, maybe? Or maybe not.

"Counterintuitive as they may seem, transparency, a willingness to be criticized, and a basic level of trust in everyone—despite knowing that one of them has to be the bad guy—end up winning the day."

I discovered Chicago's debut (double!) album in my collection recently and was very pleased to listen to it. Peter Cetera was in the band even then.

I played the PWEI song this morning while I was getting ready.

Sometimes people just stop getting along. Or sometimes good friends just stop talking to each other for a while. It doesn't have to mean that one of them is to blame.

Club Paradise is the Mendoza Line of movies. If a movie passes the Club Paradise test that means that "no, I don't recommend setting time aside to watch it but if it's on WGN and you have nothing to do, nowhere to go then you could do worse."

She may not have been chasing the top of the charts but she has continued to release amazing music. And it's never seemed like she was trying deliberately to alienate her audience, especially not through her music, just that she refused to shut her mouth about things she cared about.
