I have a soft spot in my heart (and DVD shelf) for Dune, being as it's the first film I remember snatches of from when I was four or five. It's alien in a way I can now - having read the books - only compare to John Boorman's Zardoz.

I cannot take this movie seriously. There are more than a few reasons why this film's producers skipped TIFF, none of which bode well. If I had to sum up this film as a book title, it would be Symbolism for Dummies.

Someone told him there was an action set-piece in the film, but he didn't feel like waiting around more than five minutes to see it. Instantly worse than Bad Boys II.
