Hey AssBeast,

We’re totally making the next version of the “Greatest Generation” here, just from the disruption.

Shhhh, the kids have to have stories of how hard their lives were to tell their grandchildren. This will be their ‘snow, uphill both ways’ days. Of course they will probably leave out the drug use, poor choices and lack of common sense in their retelling.

“Minimum wage=minimum skill”

with individuals who have been working minimum wage jobs their whole lives and would love to see a $15 federal minimum wage implemented by a President Sanders.

our legitimate fundamental concerns that are going unaddressed.

We get it. Possibly better than you do. COVID-19 is tearing apart the tattered remains of our social safety nets, and threatening to drag half the population down with them, the planet’s burning, and the current administration is stealing everything not nailed down and trying to strangle democracy.

Or it could lead to a Democratic Palin

That’s not the argument. My point, again, is that if your argument is correct, the voters are creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Right. And my point is Sanders’ plans could absolutely happen if the voters would get behind him and other progressive candidates

But it’s not actually the case that all of the voters whose concerns would be addressed by his answer to those questions will inevitably vote for Biden.

Except you literally said they don’t think the changes could happen. Which is it? Do they not have faith the changes are possible or do they not want them to happen, period?

Nice reference

The point is, grumpass, that the changes could be made if voters actually voted for the people who would make them. So basically the rationale you’re ascribing to them is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

But, like, he doesn’t have everyone’s vote yet.

I very much look forward to Biden using these next few weeks, of competition with Sanders, to make an actual pitch to disappointed Sanders voters and ease their mind about the potential of a Joe Biden nomination and a Joe Biden presidency.

I mean polls are showing that a number of Republican senate seats are in danger this election cycle.

All you gotta do is get a Democratic majority and get rid of the filibuster.

I am not sure she is capable of writing anything other than exercises in self validation, at least nothing in her body of work suggests otherwise.

Voters aren’t interested in “big structural” or “sweeping policy” changes this time around.  Mostly because they are aware that none of the big, sweeping changes could happen given the Senate.  So a restoration is what they are seeking, not revolution.
