A listicle about 10 essentials to bring on your walk out?

Man if we can get rid of Buzzfee, Vox, Slate, and ... sorry Schwartz, but you guys, the world be a much less hate filled place.

Can’t help but wonder if the employees agree with what the ceo says are the sticking points.

Well, true. They made at least a minimal effort to try and be a reputable news source...They still didn’t do very well. The reason Vox/GMG bleed money so badly is because they’re very clearly in no way reputable, as you can always tell by the unprofessional writing style and the lack of any attempt whatsoever to hide

It’s true, though Vox didn’t try to build an AP/Reuters style news operation the same way Buzzfeed News did.

Except Vox is bleeding money rapidly as well, and they even got a massive $200mil infusion from NBC.

Oof. Honestly I’m worried that without some solidarity from other divisions of Buzzfeed management may full well say something along the lines of: It’s been fun, but selling spatulas is a lot easier than running a digital newsroom in 2019"

Kind of, though given the shaky financial viability of Buzzfeed News specifically, it may be that on some points management’s will is going to be immutable, and they may in fact regard shuttering Buzzfeed News specifically, as a preferable outcome to agreeing to some of the union’s demands. “More money for Listicles!” shouted Buzzfeed employees, as they desperately dialed their parents on their hot pink iPhone X’s to ask for rent and bar money.

Buzzfeed needs a union for one thing: to manage severance packages in the imminent bloodbath in digital media.

Unions make sense when there is a huge profit that deserves to be shared. They make less sense when its a vanity project of a billionare who wants to pretend to be modern day JP morgan.

OH NO, NO MORE LISTICLES?! OH THE HUMANITY!

“As someone who’s worked at BuzzFeed for more than six years, I’m deeply invested in the company and its future—which is exactly why I’m so invested in the newsroom unionizing,” BuzzFeed News Deputy Culture Editor Rachel Sanders said, “Because nobody else will hire me with BuzzFeed on my resume`.”

Fuck, who’s going to copy and paste together lists of cat GIFs from Reddit now?

You could’ve probably just made the headline to this article “Lib Status: Owned” based on how the Splinter commentariat will react to this.

This fight will be short.  It will be how long before Buzzfeed runs out of cash.  The unions do realize Buzzfeed is bleeding cash, right?

Isn’t Buzzfeed like about to go under?

You won’t believe what happens next!

Companies contribute to both sides because they want access no matter who is in office. I’m not saying this isn’t gross, but if there’s a non-competitive district and a company like Comcast can buy some political influence for $5k with a guy who’s going to win by 20 points anyway, I get why they would do it. Now,
