That could very well be true. Comedy writers for a show like the Late Show can’t just write funny jokes, they have to write funny jokes that sound like Stephen Colbert wrot them. It’s entirely possible that of all of the black people that applied for the show, none of them had the write voice for Stephen’s jokes.
