Yeah, Last Action Hero was a little before its time, meta wasn’t a THING yet. Now I think people know what it’s about and love it for it.

Last Action Hero is ridiculously ahead of its time. I love that movie through and through.

This film always reminds me of the situation around Last Action Hero. They’re both satires that went over the heads of a lot of critics because they were action/sci-fi films. They ironically missed giving them proper critical analysis and wrote them off as simple “popcorn flicks.”

No comment from me, but while working at my first coding job in 2001-2002, two of the development team got into a literal fist-fight on the topic of romance options in Baldur’s Gate 2 (specifically Aerie vs Jaheira).

Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. She’ll sleep with anything that has a heartbeat, so I’m thinking I might actually have a chance with her IRL.

She wasn’t fired. Her contract was up & Disney didn’t renew it. This lawsuit isn’t going anywhere, she has no case.

Burning the American Flag as a means of protest is protected speech. Yet, not when it comes to questioning COVID, transgenderism or climate change I suppose.

lol.  there it is.

What’s funny is that past the obvious, that she thinks that she should be allowed to be antisemitic and transphobic online as much as she wants and otherwise say whatever she pleases without her non-government employer being able to do dick about it (let’s get Roseanne in on this while we’re at it), is that she wasn’t

I’m completely in support of this move; watching Musk find fresh, dumb ways to burn money is a newfound hobby of mine.

The existence of queer people isn’t “politics,” it’s reality, you complete idiot.

But don’t worry, as this leads to the great operatic ending where he gets captured, sits around in a chair getting verbally owned by Quinn before getting a bullet to his brain from the same person. Truly tying everything up in a neat narrative bow, absolutely the finish this epic version of the character deserved.

What is hilarious to me is that you just described Marvels Avengers. That game had a fairly robust 3rd person combat system, really good dialogue and scripted scenes, and an enjoyable single-player campaign.

You’re definitely right that they balanced it way more than you would expect. Especially based on how video games were in that era. When I talk to some people about the games they seem to only recall Batman as an ultimate badass “one man army” counter insurgent, but when I replayed them recently there was a lot more

You know things are going well when WB is forced to put out a statement that no, this isn’t Kevin Conroy’s last performance as Batman, since he recorded lines for other things down the line.

Was going to waste my time responding in full but honestly? Fuck off.

Most critics who reviewed the game in good faith gave it a decent score. We get it you wanted the game to fail

Yeah sure, 84/85 metacritic but “wasn’t a hit with critics” 😄

It may not have been VERY good, but it was PRETTY good, controversy aside.
