I know it is a minor detail in a very dark story and fitting in to the conspiracy-fed mentality, but I just couldn’t stop laughing at the thought of the Vatican starting a decade long project to infiltrate some random Canadian woman into a relatively minor Indian cult.

In that case, as weird as it sounds, you are probably more likely to fall for a cult or a similar con than the average person.

I’m so confused by his response. Now I’m not arguing against posting an apology, especially if it is sincere, but faking one if that is what the public perception demands. I can also see not apologizing if one is arguing a false accusation as at least there it makes logistical sense for the argument at hand.

Excellent article. I’ve read that some of the bigger sites have been trying push for using African-American talent in non-focused scenes, but apparently it is still pretty limited and you have to be one of the bigger names in the industry to get to them.

Just a slightly more accurate note on Mary Trump being the New York Times source as the way it was written there was somehow really funny.

...I mean, why is Ted Cruz offering to have Jim Jordan wrestle Ron Perlman seemingly of completely his own initiative? Also it feels weird for Cruz to insult a 70 year old man for not getting in to an actual fight and still seem to think he holds some kind of a moral high ground there.

Okay, so while I get what you are getting at, in wrestling the two performers must work together and enhance each other in order to produce the best possible match.

I binged watched Netflix’s new Italian horror show Curon and am really bummed that for understandable reasons there isn’t a post about it AVclub as there is so much I want to talk about regarding that show. I would, though, deeply recommend watching it as while there are a few stumbles, it is often remarkably smart

I’ll be honest, in about 15-20 years, when they are going to be making those biographical movies about the biggest stars of our era, I’m far more interested in the Taylor Swift movie than in the Beyonce movie. Now, before the flames, not because I don’t think Beyonce doesn’t have a story worth telling, she absolutely,

I watched the Daily Show interview where Biden spoke on the matter and assumed his comment was in reference to that, but he had just stumbled on the delivery. It is quite startling, still, to see how badly he was misquoted here and how willingly some sites are to spread that misinterpretation.

Damn it, Joe, you promised that you would be honest with us. What’s this sudden self-censorship?

This was another one of those cases where I had read the original article first, then started reading this and found myself hesitating if I was really remembering the original article this wrong. I legit don’t understand what Jezebel is even trying to achieve with this as the amount of ignoring while complaining what

Not only does this seem unlike an unnecessary mess waiting to happen, but I honestly don’t really know how this is supposed a Bat-show anymore?

Your last paragraph really crystalizes one of the core aspects which is driving me nuts about the coverage here. It is this absurd situation where they instantly admit all the work that has been done in order to verify or independently support the accusation, but instead frame it as a negative as... how dare

It’s not even that they attack Rhett, but they can’t argue against his logic in anyway so they resort to personal insults.

The fact that quotes are even on record says so much about the unquestionably insane corporate culture at CrossFit.

My favorite part about that stance, which is very crossfit-ty, is that I haven’t seen that independent research that suggests Crossfit is better for losing weight than, you know, general exercise.

The Unspooled podcast hit on that argument pretty well as Paul Scheer kept pointing out how the film was more mocking the South while Amy Nicholson felt it was more glorifying it. I’m pretty heavily on the satirical take front as to me there are just too many scenes like the one here in the film.

Brave is always an interesting one for me as I really like the film and the characters in it. The bear thing is so wild that it makes it almost impossible to explain to others, but still thought a lot of the things they did with were pretty smart.
