Out of nowhere, I get that. 1950's heteronormativiy is a bit of a weird criticism, though. I guess Hawkeye and his wife have a pretty traditional thing going, but that made you cringe?

The whole MCU would probably be improved if you cut Thor from it entirely.

That's funny. The farmhouse was like the only sequence in the movie I was really on board with.

Wild Wild West did it 16 years ago.

We know Clinton had a crippling Big Mac addiction while in office that helped him deal, and I think its fair to assume he also took mild stimulants. There's no reason to believe he was on anything harder. His heart couldn't have handled it.

No love for Iron Man? Any specific beef? Very unusual for an MCU fan.

Lists! Just the movies, though.

Firefly+Serenity is the only one that makes sense. It's short and beloved enough to work and has built in moments for cheering and whatnot.

I'm sorry, I don't read Jezebel.

I don't know you Andrew, I just know what you wrote. You called Gail and Erica "thirsty whores". You're not being literal, of course, because these women are not sex workers, so I can only assume you're being colorful because you disapprove of their behavior and are using hateful language to make that point. Dat sex scene guys. One of the funniest things I've ever seen on television. I'm all in on this show.

Seriously? I'm not sure where you get your ideas of what's typical, but typically, aggressive sexual behavior is more frowned upon in women then it is men. Do you call all women with a sex drive whores? It might be time to examine your attitudes towards women, Andrew.

William Henry Harrison is a fun historical factoid, but not much more than that. I dunno why you're implying school should have taught you anything about him

The 5 Stages of Watching a DC(post-Dark Knight) movie:
1. Watch the trailer
2. Skip the movie
3. Read people bitch about how bad it is on the internet
4. There are no more stages

Batman is an aloof billionaire who lives with his boy sidekick, Robin, and fights a parade of ridiculous colorful villains. This Batman, which is campy and fun, is not a gay character, but is a gay metaphor.

I've not seen the entire run, but its pretty great. The problem is its a satire of British politics so its unlikely to connect as hard as Veep, but Iannucci's creative vulgarity is just as funny in a british accent.

She probably is an ageist asshole. I just think that's missing the point. She's not a real character, just a mouthpiece to examine Louie's attitudes. The scene is about him, not her.

It is not her job as propieter to assist customers. It is her job to run her business. She is under no obligation to sell Louie those pots when she's trying to close up. Why is Louie entitled to such service?

That's a fair read, although obviously not the one I made. If that was the point Louie was trying to make, I think the woman would have been black, not Asian, as Asian is not the racial minority typically associated with getting kicked out of high end stores. If the clerk/owner had been black I probably would have

Fair enough. I won't pretend to speak for Louie the writer, but the similarlty to other scenes in the series where Louie gets told off suggests to me that he's trying to show us how its his attitude, not hers, that is the one being made fun of.
