Had some dillhole do this (w/his grandma in the passenger seat) across 2 lanes of traffic, he probably didn’t see me in the left lane passing the car in the right lane. I could see it in his eyes that he was going to try to beat the car in the right lane, & I covered the brakes just before he pulled out. When he

Vizio will have 55" 4k TVs for $300. I forget which stores.

HOL’ MUH BEER!!!

That’s right in 2.0L TDI (Stage 1) HP range. Should make the car fun to drive & forgiving should ya happen to overcook the entry on a corner.

Torque steer isn’t a deal breaker, it’s kinda like a manual transmission, it makes one more engaged w/the car. After a few hundred miles, one learns to compensate for torque steer w/o having to think about it.

Stability & ever so slightly better aerodynamics.

Triple digits in a high centered brick is a scary prospect. If you look close like, you’ll notice that (newer) police SUVs sit lower than stock versions.

I’ve been expousing the economy of the TDIs for years & continue to do so. Yeah, VAG lied like hell, but when you can coax nearly 700mi out of 14.5gal of fuel, you tend to not give a good gotdamn about emissions standards. Burning less fuel overall probably offsets the extra NOx anyway.

I don’t treat mine like a trash dump, even though I do very, very badly need to get it detailed. But I’ve enjoyed getting 46-53mpg (depends on the season) on a 135mi roundtrip to work & back for the last 4yrs. And I haven’t had too many major problems in all of 222,222mi.

I think where you live determines if you’re a “victim”. I’m literally the only person in my town w/the engine in question. The extra NOx isn’t going to cause any more premature deaths than the stray bullets from celebratory gunfire on New Year’s around here.

Some of the stuff that fails on those TDI powertrains is caused by emissions related equipment, like EGR. I could see how some folks would want to be reimbursed for those particular repairs, & rightly so, since they repaired some of the same issues on the gas engines for free under a recall.

Yeah sure, that’ll work too.

KG body on a GTI chassis = what would have been a Z4 fighter.

You gotta be a real dumbass to let a school bus in front of you when you don’t have to. That bus was probably gonna stop every 50yds for the next mile.

Get you some wool undergarments. They make a hell of a difference when it gets really humid. TMI WARNING: I don’t have to powder my sack when I wear woolen boxer briefs.

There’s an abandoned golf course in the Easly area of SC that would’ve been perfect for this.

I suddenly have the urge to get a CRV & lower it...or buy a reasonably priced Crosstour.

As strictly a matter of safety, would you say that inducing a 4-wheel drift is a good method of correcting taking a bad line?
