I was teaching pre-k in a public school immediately after Sandy Hook and we had the 3-4 year olds doing “lockdown” drills. Trying to keep one 3 year old quiet for five minutes is difficult; keeping 12, including several with special needs, silent is a nightmare.

Like it was seriously telegraphed. Also- firearm safety. These kids had WAY too much access to unsecured firearms. Lock up your damn guns.

Pawling! I live not too far from there! They have a cute yarn store and a neat farmers market. The train station is great if you have young kids who like trains and you need to distract them for a half hour or so.
