@chris0089: Another vote for handbrake. I've never used it for an episodic DVD, however I know it supports it and seems to work great for my other jobs.
I voted for a percentage of the cover price. Books are still priced somewhat accordingly to their content and size, but without actual production costs and fewer distributing costs, I would expect to about 60% of the cover price.
I'm currently using a 4 tier password system. Basically a simple password for sites that don't really contain any information or ability to affect me, and basically rising in complexity until it gets to bank accounts, etc.
Unfortuantely, I usually head to the drill first.

I was audited the first year I did my taxes manually and went for a bunch of deductions. Took a while, but I never actually had anything happen to me.
