I sold our xB for a 2006 BMW 325i. Sadly to say, this was a prime reason for our divorce. Oh well at least I got a BMW out of the deal (houses are overrated).

Your Japanese diesel fantasies should be here in less than a month:

I love this ad except for the 22hp line. The actual horsepower of 93 is funny enough.

Yeah I kind of figured that. I was used to a motorcycle where you manually had to switch to the reserve tank when you heard the gas running out, so it was weird to see "reserve" in a modern, fuel injected '89 Jetta.

VW fuel gauges up to the early '90's. R? Is that Deutsch for "empty"? Do I have to manually switch to the reserve tank?

I wholeheartedly endorse the MINI. I had a 2010 Cooper Clubman with the 6 speed manual. Even with just 121 hp it was a blast and even got mid-to-high 30's mpg. I find it difficult to imagine someone having a problem with the handling or even the acceleration. The upgraded Harmon/Kardon audio system was sweet. I even

Do I think Americans would all run out and get Kei cars? Absolutely not, but three-cylinders are coming back and vehicles like the original Scion xB were popular with a broad segment of people because they were cheap and high quality. I'm curious how the Mirage does, although I'd argue that's mostly just cheap.

I've owned a Bajaj Chetak (basically the two wheel version of this) and it was a great, old school, shift-for-yourself, steel bodied Scooter. Here in Portland, Voodoo Donuts uses one of these rickshaws for a delivery vehicle.

You can get a manual transmission ATS for just about the same money...

I test drove a Prius and an Insight back to back, and I have to say the Insight certainly was not THAT bad. I remember it winning a few comparison tests when it came out, not necessarily as the best hybrid but as the best driver. The Prius was ok, but also felt cheap, and had the issue of waiting 3 Mississippi before

Every car!

My only experience with a 928 is riding in my friend's dad's car. I had my had my elbow on the bottom sill and my hand on the top. Then his dad rolled up the window and trapped my hand, pinching my fingers. It was unpleasant. Ferrari all the way!

You obviously have never built a MINI on the website. You can get pretty much every feature a la carte. The problem is when you go to the dealership and all the cars have $4-5k in options, many of which you don't really want or care about.

I like the idea but Nissan probably does not want to emulate Toyota's "youth-brand" Scion as it is really doing poorly (with the exception of the FR-S...which let's face it could be called the Toyota GT86 like it is everywhere else and no one would really care).

I'd say Audi because it is somewhat related to the GTI and Audi interiors are still really class-leading. But no one could make me (or most of these commentators) spend $30k on a FWD sedan. I think of this as more of the advice I'd give to a non-enthusiast in the market for one of these.

Yep, Ed's going to need to get busy with the spanners.

They got it damn near perfect with the e46. Then started going backwards with the e90. (Also note that lever on the right? To pop the hood all you had to do was pull on that lever). On the e90 they went back to the usual "blindly hunt for the latch in the space between the hood and grille" like almost all cars)

I spent more money on my child's stroller (a Bugaboo) than I did on my first used car ('69 VW Beetle). The stroller was a better investment.

I think the horse is having the last laugh....you know, still being around and all.

Oregon's Governor still won't raise limits, supposedly because as a doctor he saw the consequences of crashes:
