What if you have kids? Or more than one friend?

@alan505: And Mercury announced a tie-in with Nautica....oh wait.

Sorry, I'm unable to read anything beyond "Back in the day, Oldsmobile was America's best selling car"

@pauljones: I fear it's not happening. Even when they did have a TDI Passat it was "Tiptronic" only. And they dropped the wagon this year altogether.

@pauljones: A wagon + a diesel + a manual would make this car infinitely more interesting....if it came to the US.

I think a better question is: "What's the Passat CC going to look like?"

I always thought these were RWD. Kind of disappointed now. Did Alfa ever import a RWD sedan?

@Snabb-SAAB: Funny, most BMW engines are best turbo-charged too.

@son of a Sven: Only if they put it in a 3 or 5 door hatch.

@jcd302: Ever been to a BMW/Mini dealer?

@dmckoltrane: I think you are wrong about shoddy build quality and 'something that can't be taken far from home for fear it's going to fall apart.' I don't understand why they would try to hide it in a gas tank...much less a natural gas tank. How did they get it in there? How did they expect to get it out? And finally, why did it explode?

As someone who is the target demographic for this...I have to say I really, really like it. (Not the lame picture, but the idea of a Mini E scooter.) Please build them, MINI!

@Crown Victorious: Mine too. He loves every machine that is big and loud. I think I'll stick with a more tasteful version than this. Really any other version....

@smackela: I think heretics would be those who prefer the convertible version or *gasp* the automatic. I love the 4 door too. What I would really love is a wagon, though...

@Dirt Pirate: I think you've confused this with "Which GM car was BEST able to compete with the japanese big three"

@Hoser Dave: Hey, the car has actually DOUBLED in value since it was purchased. Pretty sweet for a '94 Grand Am..
