They quoted the mass being under 1700 for the bigger battery.  I think the pictures don’t convey how tiny it is.  I’d guess it’s a foot shorter than a Miata and the tub is aluminum.  But we’ll see when they put a bit of safety kit in.

People need attention so badly these days.

These are Chinese missiles that flew over where 90 percent of the world’s microchips are made. You’re damn right I want enough industry here that we don’t have our economy collapse because we can’t build computers. These are weapons that all the Chinese products we’ve bought in the last 30 years paid for.  Screw that.

I’m opposed to them subsidizing their industry temporarily in order to destroy ours.  Are you really that daft that you can’t see why that is a HORRIBLE situation to allow to exist????  We don’t deserve to be a world power if we’re that dumb.

Oh my, lol.  This is a little funny - kinda like someone with an iPhone discovering it has Face ID.  In any case, I think Kia are the real inovators here.  You can choose to have the blinker blink for 3, 5 or 7 blinks before it stops.  I think the 5 is about perfect and I wish this feature were universal.

Same basic car. Same platform. One has a big schnoz, the other is just bland.

They now have a factory in Germany and one in China... how long do you think it would take to shut down American operations if it got way more profitable to just sell us the Chinese one?  Do you REALLY want that?  Or are you just here for the Elon memes?

Hey, that attitude did a great job of stopping the Chinese from dumping solar panels and destroying any chance of an American solar industry!  But hey, I’m really glad for you that you have idealism about this free market global economy you believe in...

Noisy, slow, cramped and not particularly efficient. The nose job did it no favors compared to the original.  I know it’s a crap box because a family member had one.  It was bought for an elderly person purely on price and ease of use and simplicity.  It was an unpleasant car and downright scary in a bit of snow.

Great and 29mpg at a constant 60 mph on flat ground at like $6 a gallon is a bargain? As was the thousands of extra dollars you paid for the privilege? Plus you get to roll around in a truck that takes 10 seconds to get up to highway speeds!  So much no in this equation for me.  Diesel is incredibly gross.

Racing is boring for everyone who’s not driving or very drunk. I don’t need an excuse for a good drink, and I have zero interest in driving such a lazy attempt at a sporty car. Honda are only good at boring cars - and there is a place for that in this world. But Jalopnik acting like this crappy little hatch that would

If you’re worried about the environment - why are you reading about a gas powered “performance” version of a car? Under tired means the tires do not fit the purpose of a car. Little tiny wheels with skinny tires on a performance-car do it no favors and save no fuel if you have to slam on the breaks any time you have

Slow car fun = myth.  Slow car with boring design, snoozing performance, and low-expectation-fanboys does nothing to change this.

It’s fine, enjoy gas prices and subsidizing terrorism, state sanctioned assassinations, and Liv golf. At least Phil Mickelson’s gambling tab is paid. I have an EV and it’s a great car.

I was in Berlin a couple weeks ago and those are everywhere and are very common in a car-sharing app of some sort.  They are quite nice looking.  They might not be a “Golf” but it’s the exact same concept and seems well-executed.

Why are we so compelled by cars that are crap boxes that perform like base-models from the next  size up?  This thing is slow, noisy, frumpy, under-tired, and no more efficient than a larger car.  Sure, small electric cars will be heavy for their size but they will bet quieter, much quicker, smoother, and Honda can

I’m disappointed none of these is a hybrid that can get 30 mpg. I wonder if the interior room is as cramped as previous generations. Traditionally, these trucks have been appealing but so much less family-friendly than a full sized it was just not worth it. Now all big trucks are like 60k and cost an arm and a leg to

I paid 29k for mine. The ID4 even with rear wheel drive is marked up into the upper 40s. That is NOT as economical. (Though it’s a nice car with the same fundamental problem - nowhere to reliably charge it while the family with the Tesla have no such problem)

Wow, a story that is about electric cars that isn’t trashing Tesla!

This is kinda sketchy clickbait Jalopnik-at-its-worst. Try to buy a Bolt right now? They are really hard to get and when a dealer gets one, it usually lasts a day or so. I got the smaller one a few weeks ago, had the charge port installed yesterday so I can fast-charge. It’s a fantastic little car hamstrung
