I had to buy an XC60 because the V60 is just too small (still bitter that the long-wheelbase S60 isn’t an R-Design wagon...). I’d definitely take the time to try this out too. I know I sound like a total nerd/parent for noticing this on a car website, but are those not the absolute best anchors for a child seat ever

This is a model that’s gotten a lot of press, in the way that the Cayman GT4 did before its release. Will it be possible to even buy one or are they all sold out already?

I love fast cars and performance, but I would encourage everyone buying a car, to check the NHTSA crash results of every single car they consider buying. For example, the difference between a 2013 and a 2014 Honda Odyssee are very substantial in a wreck like the one picture. The two cars look the same from the outside

And G8s were selling for really inflated prices at that time. Mine was 3 years old, the loan had an extra $6000 for a lease rolled in, and I still traded it for 7k over what I owned. It allowed me to get a better, more expensive car. The G8 nailed the basics but the stereo didn’t even have Bluetooth streaming and

Safety and AWD.

This was my whole reason for asking if anyone knows about test results. I have no idea, for example, what Australia does for safety regs and testing. I’ll admit I was a bit miffed that Porsche doesn’t actually test their cars in crashes. For a volume manufacture, that’s pretty horrible. The newer models are doing

Show me a US crash test result for this car.

Additionally, the NHTSA hasn’t made a small overlap test mandatory until this year if I’m not mistaken. So cars with older designs, are sometimes deathtraps unless someone hits you squarely in the front end. You can say this is a really small % wreck if you like, but a woman lost control of her car and hit my Volvo

It is a revised version, that included a fair amount of high strength steel. I do not know, nor has it been publicized, if anything was done to make it any safer in a crash. One review of the car said they took some weight out (duh). But styling wise, it’s the same other than the front and back ends and interior trim.

Show me the results.

A few things for the rude geniuses among you.

I had a G8 GT and loved that car, but got a Volvo when we had our daughter. Does anyone know if any version of this car has been crash tested? I know it has all the electronic nannies, but unsure about the engineering behind the actual car. I think the car looks great, except for the front end and the wheels. The G8

Wasn’t the turbo based on a different engine architecture that didn’t have an IMS? I avoided that whole era like the plague and wanted a NA car. But was under the impression the Turbo didn’t have this issue. I would imagine a timing chain (I think it uses a chain but could be mistaken), clutch, etc. Service would be a

Clearly it’s not a Focus wagon, but have the dimensions been released? Sometimes the pictures can skew the styling a bit.

Seriously, if Chinese ownership were so taboo, a lot of media outlets and a sizable chunk of NYC would be absolutely taboo. This wagon is gorgeous, but I’ve had an XC60 for about a year and the merits of the extra ground clearance are very useful (I don’t miss front bumper scrape anxiety). It would be a tough choice

This is what VW should take to every auto show this year. The only thing I’d change is add enough rake to the windshield to take out a pillar - that would really improve visibility. Otherwise this thing is a home run.

I love Volvos and I have an XC60 R-Design that the wife would enjoy stealing from me. So these new Volvos are interesting to me. One problem of the old line of cars was that they were all within 3k of each other on price. I know they wanted to move upmarket a bit with the new model but I hope they don’t fancy their

Any idea how much to get one with leather, awd, and heated seats?

Perhaps - but they send us their most complicated sedans. So I don’t know that sparing our pocketbooks is their first priority. But reliability point taken.

Yeah this is a consistent decision that the VW group seems to make over and over. I’d have considered the Golf R Wagon on my shortlist when I got my Volvo SUV if I could have gotten one at or around 40-42k. That’s probably the problem, transaction prices here are lower.
