While not as topical these days as hospital ships, IMO the second oldest Navy ship in commission, the USS Pueblo which currently resides in North Korea, is a way more interesting story to read.
We desperately need a “where are they now” of ex-Jalop writers.
For someone who doesn’t want a big truck but does want an extra vehicle to assist with house projects (and appreciates the back to basics spec), this would be good. For someone wanting a DD or something with reasonable towing capacity, this is not that vehicle.
Only a matter of time before the owner of that car is outed and it’ll be well before the statute of limitations runs out. Audi sold just 2,963 A8's in the USA last year. Of those how many were white? Of those white cars how many have Pennsylvania plates like the car above (you can see the blue/white color scheme…
I don’t see a reference to Munro tearing down a recently built Model 3, just the early one they did. Also not interested in anything Edmunds related.
I’d like to see Munro tear apart a fresh Model 3 to see if Tesla has applied these improvements to the car that needed them the most.
I’m afraid I don’t have his contact information anymore however he’s still out there. Read his wiki page, he’s the unsung hero of some incredibly significant vehicles. If you can find him you’d have a ton of awesome content for the site.
“Other changes from ZJ to WJ included the re-mounting of the spare tire from inside the vehicle cargo area to under the cargo area false floor. This pushed the floor down, and sent the fuel tank sagging.”
We seriously need a “where are they now” article on former Jalopnik contributors.
If you consider the 8 Series polarizing in 1999, imagine the wow factor that car had in 1990. Truly a masterpiece from an era where BMW design was strong, had interesting geometric shapes/angles, had slightly odd quirks for the time, but were above all unique to BMW.
Any car that you could buy, enjoy, and sell for what you paid or more is NP. Assuming the car passes a PPI, at this end of the depreciation curve you can’t go wrong.
Probably same ad agency who came up with the poorly timed “Coming Ashore Soon” slogan for Corona seltzer water.
You forgot another class action lawsuit on that engine. Former MK6 GTI owner here (same engine) and there’s a separate lawsuit regarding the water pump.
Or just add conditions barring those companies from using bailout money in ways you listed in numbers 1&2 to prevent fucking over the employees you listed in #3?
About to ship our VW Bus to a shop in next week or two. virus or not rust repair needs to happen.
Meanwhile we’re still paying above $3/gal in California because ???.
Think about it, 90% of the time, the only ones there are journalists/youtubers, rarely do they actually get in and test drive the cars. They all take videos and pictures and broadcast them on the web anyways. So what is the point?
