Honestly I think will just bookmark another car site(s). I have been reading/commenting regularly on jalopnik.com since 2008/09 but over the last year I’ve seen a lot disappointing things like great talent leaving, editors literally telling readers to “eat shit” in the comments, front pages clogged with old articles

Yup, look at the 5th picture from the bottom.

Looks like the 1993 Mercury Sable reborn.

It will fail because according to Jeep there’s not enough heritage.

I’m okay with this because

Great timing as we’re literally restoring a red/white 11 window VW Bus right now and will hopefully be done by the time this toy comes out.

Looking back on this it would appear I was fooled by the rerun of the article. It showed up on the front page, I assumed it was a new article and didn’t read the post date, interested in the subject I looked up that very question on my own, and got the two articles I posted.

I would guess the majority of these cars are leased, possibly by people who can write off the lease on their taxes.

I like the BTTF reference but it looks more like something out of Total Recall which is somewhat fitting as those cars were also based on Beetles.

Here’s two articles you should read, found them on Jalopnik......

I’m guessing that’s the car we’ll be getting here just with some different plastic on the nose and more heritage fist pumping on the inside.

We’ll get there don’t worry. The EV is getting cheaper over time just like flat screen TVs did. Once a luxury item compared to CRTs, then somewhat comparable, now cheaper and you can’t even buy a new CRT anymore (or can you?).
