Spoiler of the Spoiler Alert:

Hi Drew.

Last night was the worst episode in the history of the show. The rape scene was awful, for all of the reasons you mention. Also, the fight scene was really, really poorly filmed and staged. The Sand Snakes are miscast, and therefore, ineffective in these roles. What is surprising is that leading up to episode six was

It was awful. The choreography was disjointed and confusing. Also, the sand snakes have no presence. They are weak actors, sorry to say. The do not come across as bad asses who are dangerous, but petulant brats who are pissed their daddy died.

In the 4.5 seasons thus far, how they handled Sansa last night was the only really poor narrative/writing choice that D&D have made (last year’s twincest rape I consider more as poor directing, than poor writing). It seemed that Sansa was slowly gaining her agency back, her confidence and her power (see, the tub

Well, to be fair, GRRM used that same device in the books. So, they are using it, but that is because the source material uses it.

Touchy...

You must be new around here. Bless your heart.

At the end of last season, it was already clear that Gawker had and will continue to take the editorial position of anti-TD season 2, for general progressive, outrage junkie reasons. Basically, they did not like the creator’s views.

I guess you guys are competitors. But, as I know you know, what sets you apart from Grantland, is that you have no affiliation with the Disney deathstar and can write whatever the fuck you want, which is great. However, do not confuse yourselves that you have the writing talent that Grantland does. You don’t. From the

It would be great if Deadspin could bring someone in who has knowledge with how that breakdown of money was allocated. Sure, we know it was 60%/40%, but what about promoters, the venue, marketing, etc.? You know, be servicey.

He is being is accused a person of rape. If he did not do it, of course, he has ever right to slam back. Why should one person be obliged to follow a different standard of having a more “respectful” pleading than the other? This is a silly post.

HA. No. Just no. The Stark seed is strong and darker features prevailed with JS.

Wow. So the editor who I allege to have overlooked a very thinly veiled implication of casual racism, which I believe is incorrect, agrees with you, and not me. Well — you have me there. Great job by you and your editor!

I agree with most of your premise. He is sloppy, needs a firm editor and has a style that people grow out of as they mature. But if you do not think you implied that his writing has the casual racism of young, well to do, white college grad, it seems like you might need some editorial input too.

If that is the case, and I take your word for it, then it should not have been used so closely to a reference of him being self-congratulatory and white, I mean, we both know where that tends to go. And, if you want to take about lazy writing... come on.

Calling him careless (read, laconically racist) is lazy, and frankly, looks to be untrue. I would wager Grantland is more diverse that Gawker’s entire masthead.
